Yes, it is done regularly especially in the country side...but don't think one minute that animal cruelty is only happening in China...far from the truth...It happens everywhere in the civilized world, in the US and Canada and Europe and Australia and the rest of the world...in industrial farms where animals are treated as a commodity, where abuse and mistreatment is not only common but a general practice. Cattle, pigs, chicken, are treated, transported, killed in the most atrocious way, sometimes disemboweled without being dead. In some industries, chicks that are to be disposed of because they are not fit for human consumption or use are simply ground alive and used for animal feed....

So, what do I think about animal cruelty? I think it is sad and tragic, and it should be treated as a crime, whether it is done by a Chinese, an American or any other person...and I am no emotional pet lover or animal rights activist...

Yes. It was practiced in Hong Kong, may be about 30 years ago as well. There are certain type of bird, the saying goes, that this is the only way to do it. But the British government forbid us doing that.

In China, yes. Very easy to find the same practice in local market.

Yes, it is sick.

Ci Ci
There have been reports that they indeed do this. It's disgusting.

bambibalu3
I believe they do it it several countries, and it´s not the only cruel thing people do to animals...in Japan people eat fish ALIVE and monkeys (the brains) ALIVE as well

I feel sick just writing this...

don't think u can single out china - animal cruelty happens all over the world; canadians club baby seals, australians kill kangaroos, live monkey brain is a delicacy in the middle east, etc. it's hard to think about all the cruelty that humans inflict on animals but it happens.

sam g
Yes they do, but it is not all animals they do this to.....

I went to a restaurant some time ago, that served snakes... they skinned the snake whilst still alive, and the poor bugger was still wriggling (obviously in serious pain)... after being skinned.... not a nice thing to see...

I have seen snakes and frogs been skinned alive while living in China. The skinned snakes, while still wriggling were then chopped up in bite sizes pieces and thrown in the hot boiling oil in the wok. I have also seen fish been clubbed to death on the head before chopping them up.

It's true. Go to youtube and search for FUR then you'll be able to see the proof. So it's true. It is sick. We can help by not buying fur. That's all we can do to help.

yeah , in japan people like skin alive wales

More gravy than grave
they think excess adrenaline (violent torcher) exerted from the animal durring the slaughter acts as an sexdrive-enhancer...from every kind of dog to every kind of kat...the worst is the farms...they're bred and packaged and shipped alive...don't think that way about all Chinese and Koreans...there's strong protest groups within the countries. well it's not like the US military didn't use dogs in atomic bomb tests...sleep well

arielst0rm
sure, thats sick. maybe somewhere in china or japan some people are skinning animals alive for consumption. maybe somewhere in germany some people are eating human meat. maybe some artist from russia is killing small animals and using them in her artwork. or maybe somewhere in NY people are freezing small animals in ice cubes. so around the world some minority of people have a morbid or cruel streak. but okay, what exactly would be the point of you asking such a question? what are you trying to get at?

yeah, where do you think the saying comes from?

Dont really have an opinion on it. They are not as forward thinking us and in some parts of china very isolated. This would be everyday ife for them. Just because it isn't your way of life doesn't mean its wrong. Different situations!
