There is no protocol. Everyone is free to ask and answer as they see fit as long as it is within Yahoo guidelines so I suppose that is the only protocol
There are some here who think that they are above the rules or that the rules don't apply to them.

Just remember this is the net and all is not what it seems. That sweet young 28 yr old could just be a 58 yr old grandma.

It is always nice for one to ask or 'blow the horn' upon entering new territory. Marie welcome to YAP. Talk here is free and there are less rules. Feel free to act like a senator of the Philippines, talk much and you can be censured but you will never go to jail. YAP can be crowded with ideas but at the end of the day, you just dust off and move on. You will just have to be patient with those who can be vitriolic and sarcastic sometimes buts it's all for fun. Nothing personal. Again welcome.

But if you really want to know something else, just be yourself. And always remember you cannot please everybody, yes even if you really really try hard enough.

If you need to know more on how to act in here, read the q & as of the people who are most prominent in here. I won't mention names but you can tell who they are. And then you can see for yourself who are among the most-loved & who are among the least liked. Then go ask yourself who you want to be.

Gate-crushing is welcome, although there might be some bouncers out there just waiting to kick you out. So be forewarned.

Hi, Marie, Josey and PC and the rest are right....you don't need to introduce yourself here everybody will have to know atleast few details about you in the long run, just cast out and post in your Q &A, whenever you want, everybody is entitled to share his/her own opinions and suggestions. Though you may feel that there are very few who wouldn't want to welcome your presence, just ignore them...but hey master Aref has some conditions...LOL

There's no pecking order on here. Although some people like to think there is. Don't be intimidated by those self proclaimed masters. They are probably the same people who claim to have been using the internet since 1975. Yeah, right. (idiots)
