jan-na~♥~ and im luvin it

It's raining and I cant go out. Thought to share this to y'all?

May kasakay ako sa elevator na kano. pababa kami ng ground floor, pero bago makarating ng ground, huminto sa 4th floor, pag bukas, pinoy, tinanong ako, "BABABA BA?". sinagot ko, "BABABA". pumasok yung pinoy. pagsara ng elevator, the american asked curiously, "did you guys just had a conversation"

trans: i was with a foreigner while taking the elevator. the door opened and a filipino asked, "BABABA BA?" I answered, "BABABA". The door closed and the foreigner asked curiously, "did you guys just had a conversation?"

bababa = going down

that's so funny! i actually laughed out loud after reading this post!

maybe the foreign guy thought that the pinoy guy was baby talking to you!
LOL!

Panda007
Thanks, dear.
Now I have learnt that one must never sing 'Baa baa black sheep' to any child in the Philippines :
The baby will start wondering why I not 'going down', in spite of repeatedly saying that I am going to !
:-))

my dad keeps telling that story..hehe..still funny...(he just adds the question from the kano: "are you a sheep?" because of the baah sound that a sheep makes)

nena aka NENA
funny, ms jan-na!!! nena likes your story --- hindi mahaba (not long!)

your answer could have been ..."baka bababa" - maybe going down or "bababa itong bata" - this kid's going down.

jongbong
zzz... yeah funny! the other version i heard was inside a jeepney. the driver asked... "bababa ba?" and the passenger said.. "bababa". hmmm... beer... zzz...

In English, bababa = going down, has a few other meanings then just going down in an elevator.

Rode|ette Û©
A repetition of 2 letters in the Philippines could actually be a conversation. lol!

that was funny.

Sexy No More
hahaha! Nice one Jan-na...everytime Johni hear me talking to my fellow pinoys while I'm on the phone with him, he usually commented "buk-buk-buk, are you in the chicken farm, darlin?... lols!

maybe the foreigner came from another planet where conversation is done by scratching the head

Juan C
then what did you answer???

nice stuff... I wish I was in the elevator too, together with you... jejeje...

Aref H4
Thank you for sharing, Janna. Loved it.

wandering_pinoy
LOL! Thats a good one!

ScarletRaven
Haha! Funny! I mean, imagine if you're the foreigner, and the two people in front of you just start saying the same 1 syllable repeatedly, then apparently end up understanding each other. ^_^

piaryel
this actually happened here too. i was in the elevator with an american, another pinoy came on and he asked me the same...the american said, "you actually had a complete conversation with each other using just one word?!!?!!"

yamitz
Funny.....Thanks...

I thought you was talking about the rain drops bababa on the street?

pero_102
ha ha ha ha!
are you pertaining to Trillanes when he said this about PGMA?
"blah blah blah blah".

He was probably perplexed because the only word he could hear was 'bababa', a 3-syllable word which could not be a sentence. But for you and the other guy, it conveyed a message you and him can only understand. Poor American...

Funny one..but..whats the question? I thought yahoo answers is a place where you can ask questions and other people can answer..maybe you should post this in your blog instead.
