She made a mistake like everyone does, but it gets magnified because it was witnessed by many on a national forum. I think she has suffered enough and doesn't need further insults. We shouldn't judge her for one episode, nor question the judges' integrity - I'm sure there are other criteria by which the winner is determined.
She needs to improve a lot and fast for her to have a fighting chance. I just want her to bring honor to herself and her family, and to her country as well. |

Yesterday it is funny now I think it's pathetic... how could you possibly ask her to compete with the world if she cannot express what she wants to say? |

She's a total embarrassment to us. How she won is a total disbelief. How the judges overlook her empty-headedness is way beyond me, how can they let her win?! Argh! |

oopppss...
ok i'm not being too kind and silly here but i think there's always a room for improvement..
maybe the judges have seen her as a big challenge and thought that she'd still be able to compete in such prestigious beauty pageants like Ms. World...
of course, she must exert really hard.... really really hard..because given that kind of opportunity, she must not fail us...no way.. |

she actually won??
if she speaks like that while representing the country, i'd say it's an embarrassment! however she won with an answer like that is beyond me.. |

When she started talking I really did cover my ears so as not to hear her answer coz I feel that I was the one embarrassed with her answer and not the other way around. She really needs improvement in her communication skills and she must start now if she wantsto shine in the Miss World Pageant. |

What i can say about her can be summed up in one word: "uggghhhh"
What is alarming for me is the calibre and brains of the judges who made her Bb. Pilipinas World. |

i'd say beauty and brains does not come together most of the times.... i mean often times.... well.... lets just give her the benefit of the doubt... she has more to learn.. more wisdom to dig in... |

According to the news last night, even though she failed the question and answer portion, the contestant's way of carrying herself is the most important for the Ms. World pageant. Ms. Universe on the other hand require wits, and a good carrier of swimsuits for Ms. International. I forgot the rest. What happened to her was embarrassing for her and our country but the judges wouldn't choose her without a purpose. Plus, it just happens that she got totally lost during that portion. It's not a basis for measuring her capabilities. |

-she should've answered the question in Tagalog that way her answer could've made sense but she didn't and that's sad.
-it's not a matter of being fluent in English but on how you understand the question which, based on her answer that she did not.
- to think that she's a masscomm student.. is just so baffling.
-then later she was interviewed in a news channel about her reaction to her 'messed up' answer at the pageant she just answered...'it's heeeestureee'...lol! |

Well, i don't want to judge her just because she did a very shameful and most embarrassing moment of her life and to her FAMILY. Nevertheless, for me a beauty queen should have at least brains as well, to make an equillibrium from your physical beauty. It makes a bad impression to our country as you representing it to the whole wide world. Do you get what I mean? I hope so.....
I understand you are just 17 but we expect that within this age you could speak a simple english with proper subject and verb. I advise, you can have english communication tutor in preparing your com skills for the BIG SHOW.....
Your professor might be shocked and can't get over through what had happen that night. |

I was there and honestly i never thought she'd win.. a lot of people were frustrated at the result and honestly I'm beginning to question Bb. Pilipinas judges credibility. no offense.. I'm just being honest here...... but lets just pray that she'll do good on miss world pageant..... |

she's pretty and she can carry herself well. Fine. but there are many contestants to choose from. why would they let her win ? 7 months to improve? i don't know.
She can't have a translator. that's a big insult. according to reader's digest 98% of the filipinos speak english ,how come the one who will represent the country can;t speak english? she will really have to work hard for the improvement.
well let's just see what will happen. i hope she'll bring pride instead of humiliation. |

She needs an interpreter. |

Hindi niya kailangan mag-ingles. Ok na ang sarili niyang wika. Kailangan lang interpreter. Mabuhay. |

people laugh at her.
i feel bad for her though. i mean it really is funny at first but if you watch it again you'll see what filipinos are these days. right? we're suppose to be good english speakers...! |

she's a disgrace to our race!!!
i can't believe why she won, and in the first place, why did she even qualify in the pageant..
i just think bb. pilipinas organizers just lost their credibility.
one comment in youtube said (i'll just translate it to english)
"oh my god, janina won? then this is the chance for maids and filipina vendors to join this pageant, provided that you're pretty, brains will never be a question!" |

I know she expressed herself poorly in english.
But she has charm and she turned an embarrassing moment
into a funny one because she was willing to laugh at herself.
But I do agree that she should take a crash course
in English, get a coach or something. Cos Miss World is more
competitive and being articulate is important.
She has time. She has a great personality and the right body for
the Miss World pageant. English is learnable. |

Mamma mia! She's really one of a kind.. after embarrassing herself that night she still have the guts to stand, walk and smile like a true beauty queen. Just don't let her speak too much though.. <*-*> |

More than how she answered, is how she carried herself and her beauty against the rest of the participants, it is still a score system with different weights for each category.
Though at some point, competing outside, she needs to be coached on how to answer herself, and if she wants, she can opt to answer in tagalog and have a translator, which other countries do anyway. |
