Hi, these are both interesting, when I was a little younger(he..he..) I enjoy watching cartoons, and now that I have my own kids I also do enjoy watching animes'. Though there is one thing I notice, most cartoons are kids friendly and most animes are rated PG(Parental Guidance). |

Japan's anime |

Both, but truth is, both Japan and the United States outsource their cartoons to Filipino cartoonists, so either way, it shows that Filipinos are great artists and are highly talented. |

Japan's anime is a killer... lots of actions and and not corny, unlike the US' cartoons (except for the Looney Tunes)... |

let's face it, USA cartoons are for kids. only a few US cartoons are worth watching... maybe it's just The Simpson's and Family Guy
Japanese Anime are for more mature audiences that appreciate better story lines and a host of themes and genres from "slice of life", action adventure, suspense/mystery, and even sports... not to mention that people can better relate to certain Anime characters than finding something in a US cartoon.
so far, i've seen (or continuously follow) these Animes and have not been disappointed:
Slam Dunk (the comics are much better though)
Gate Keepers (fun to watch)
Honey & Clover (a classic)
Bleach (best damn cartoon ever)
Death Note (makes people wonder)
Code Geass (2 seasons made, for the liberal thinkers)
Hajime no Ippo (really funny way of knowing about boxing, 2nd season on-going) |

The sad thing about anime's is that some new one have sexual scenes. Fushigi Yuugi, and Yuyu Hakusho to name a few. |

Japan's anime, hands down.
But I will always have a soft spot for some beloved Walt Disney cartoons. Mulan's my favorite as I can relate to her. |

CARDCAPTOR SAKURA
YUYU HAKUSHO
DETECTIVE CONNAN
ONE PIECE
SLUM DUNK
SAMURAI X

I say its not how it portrayed, but the story, unless its hard to understand, annoying or hurts your eyes. |
