If you are from the west (US,UK etc), choosing Kuala Lumpur, malaysia for your vacation offers several advantages. Chiefly, you get better value for your money due to the currency exchange. Unlike other major cities in Southeast Asia, prices are comparatively low given the quality of products/services. I'd advice you to be extra careful as the rate of snatch thefts is very high.My friend was robbed three times in different parts of KL the last seven months .He swore never to go back ever. |

NO
Though i am malaysian, but the answer is a no.
May i suggest Bangkok , Thailand.
Main reason being cost for transportation, accommodation, places of attractions , friendliness of people , level of service and personal safety.
And as another choice of destination will be Singapore. |

NO! There are lots of thieves in Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur.
I's rather go to South America or if you really must go to South East Asia, go to Singapore or elsewhere, but definitely not to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. |

Normally, I would not say something that would be considered by some as unpatriotic but listening to my heart and mind, I have to tell the truth.
Kuala Lumpur should be the last place in your mind, if you want to visit South East Asia. Some better options would be Singapore and Hong Kong. For reasons that are only better known to locals here and for which I'm a little reluctant to tell, please choose only Kuala Lumpur if you are on a budget. |

Don't try to get me to go on a trip to Kuala Lumpur. That's just not right. I could go to the Dominican Republic and have more fun for less.

To get a very good idea of what South East Asian cities are really like, you must spend at least a day in each of these cities--Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Each place will give you a different experience and you will go home with an interesting variety of local shopping. So a week's holiday for these top tourist spots should be adequate. But if you have time for only two spots, then Singapore and Bangkok will provide you with lots of satisfaction. Research on your own though, before you come for greater insights and lesser disappointments. |

KL is better that BBK in terms of Food, Shopping and sight seeing. Must Must vist Gengting High Land. One day tour. Lots of Clubs, bars. No hookers like BBK.
Bukit bin tan is the happening place. English no problem.

Every cities has its own uniqueness and attractions. I can't say Kuala Lumpur is better and any other cities. Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok are all big cities and you'll get what you expect from a big city. If you chose to visit Kuala Lumpur , you are most welcome, people here are very friendly especially towards tourists ( save for the taxi drivers ), you may visit the famous landmark of Kuala Lumpur, Petronas Twin Towers or KLCC. There are many modern shopping malls line up througout Kuala Lumpur. For night life, you can head to Bukit Bintang area. It is the most famous place for night life in Malaysia. For shopping, besides those malls you can go to Central Market ( handycrafts, souveniers ) or Chinatown ( souveniers, imitation goods ) and countless other stores around the city selling different items. Food is not a problem, you can have any food, asian or western without any problem and also at very cheap prices. Language is not a problem, many people in Kuala Lumpur speak English. Even those who don't speak English , they still understand simple phrases in English. |
