If only the Govt and the Religious Dept has the same focus and commitment to stamp out corruption instead of being obsessed with being our moral police.
Our religious dept is superb at identifying skimpily dressed entertainers, or lovers holding hands in the park but have failed miserably in identifying even one person involved in corruption.
I agree with the comments of all my fellow answerers above. |

the more u ban them the more they are going to be defiant
EDIT:

i dont think they know what 'sexy' means...example the awards ceremony, people like Maya Karin and few others were wearing gowns with low cuts and can see part of their breast like the westerners...so why were'nt this artist dressing be banned? no comments...plain hypocrite....i also heard that the male artist were not allowed to have long hair...so what about Amy Search, Awie and his band, AC Mizal..the Amok guy....no comments...plain hypocrite |

Open Limewire or iMesh or any other P2P sharing program and search for "melayu". You'll get a long list of porn.
That tells exactly how decent Malays really are.
Sexy entertainment cannot, but rogol boleh... Where is the logic??? |

i must say its political, there is no clear line to arrest sexy entertainers a not? one good example is your hear this kind arrest is going on in the city on the other you ll see most of the sexy entertainers on the other part of the town.
it had nothing to do with religion, social and culture sensitivities. the world change and we are change with the world (of course the is a limit). common...they are only sexy not stripping.
here some tough.

My first response as an international artiste is "why the hell would I wanna go to MALAYsia to perform when I am not welcomed by the 'big boys'?" ... I'd rather go to Singapore or Bangkok to perform my gig, if I were to decide between Singapore, KL and Bangkok... (or maybe even Jakarta and Manila too!)
With such a stupid policies, the so-called Immigration Department, Culture, Arts & Heritage Ministry should just enjoy watching nasyid and listen to their favourite lagu-lagu jiwang musicals. I guess there will be nothing else for the Malaysians to look forward to. As Shayna mentioned earlier... the more they ban them, the more they defy.
By the way, the Malaysian system is full of loopholes and full of corrupted politicials... maybe Inul Daratista could do a private 'Goyang Gerudi' for those officers from the so-called "Immigration Department, Culture, Arts & Heritage Ministry" to get her 'special approval' later... if you know what I mean... you'll see... things happens :-)
Malaysia is just closing another door to creativity/hope and trying to create an 'image' of another foolishness and spreading their disease of Malaysia BODOH.
Good job...
*** Can't show armpits on Malaysian TV, can't hold hands in front of Malaysian TV, can't hug in front of Malaysian TV, can't kiss on Malaysian TV, can't show ghost faces on Malaysian TV, can't this and can't that... but they CAN do one thing for sure... BE STUPID. |

My first reaction is to laugh out loud. Once again, my beloved government has decided to 'campur tangan' in the lowest of matters compared to matters that should have more priorities. The way I see it, our government is just jealous that other countries can produce such outstanding performers whereas Malaysia's entertainment industry is no where on par with any of our neighbours. What a pity....no wonder our country is the LAST choice of any celebrities who which to perform here if our country is considered at all.
Anyway, never mind. As with any new 'policy', after all the initial buzz, everything will revert as though nothing has been mention. |

Okay, if our government is going to hault sexy entertainers from coming to Malaysia, i'll deal with as long as they provided a long explanation with it. I mean, what about those Bollywood movies where heroines show their tummies, shake their body like there's no tomorrow, touching here and there?
You know what, I think this is why Malaysia is not on the popular list of foreign tourists. Malaysia has too much do's and don't's. We have such modest promotion. Imagine if we allow those entertainers in and then when they got back to their country and tell all the nice (or naughty) things about Malaysia, i am pretty sure that tourists will come to our country like storm. We don't need all the 50th anniversary's mumbo-jumbo promotions actually..
Am i right, people? |

so many different opinion..
mine will be..
just follow malaysian dressing code of conduct..
but honestly i think this is just malaysian artist complaning on the indonesian artist so that they can cari makan..
sometimes malaysian artist dont follow the rules or regulation regardless of what race.. ah chong, sharifah or kalai..
so enforcement must be done internally before targeting the other artist..
as conclusion.. foreign artist shall/ must respect malaysia rule |

everyone has their own point of view of the word "sexy". The "sexy" that they're talking about is probably...showing too much skin, i'm sure you know what i mean.
anyway, if that's the case...i agree. it's just not our style. we have to have our own way of doing things. we can't always follow what the western do and how they do it. it has always been in our culture to "show less". our traditional clothes proves that.
besides, celebs are idols...and if they go international...they should show the true original image of Malaysia. they're being followed by younger peoples...teens especially, so they have to watch what they do.
just my point of view. :) |
