I would have prefered Iloilo but given the 2 choices, I'll take Cebu. If I move there now, maybe I can get a teaching post at USC. Should I buy this nice beach house?

Cebu, because Manila heavy traffic, in Cebu you can work the whole week and during weekend you got lot of choices for rest and recreation like white sand beaches and nature adventure.

Cebu.
People are friendlier.
Smiles are more genuine.
One feels safer.
Industrialized yet less polluted.
No flooding.
Danggit galore.
and more. |

Both! Manila and Cebu have A LOT of historical sites that you would want to visit. Although there's a lot of traffic in Manila, it is more of a Metropolitan Area than Cebu. On the other hand, Cebu has absolutely beautiful beaches and there's a great place there too called "Kawasan Falls" and it's about 3 hours trip from the main city. But eitherway, if you love both the city feel and the serene beaches, you'll find enjoyment in those two places. |

Cebu. When I want to relax, I need to get out of the big city. |

Definintely Metro Manila. Since I was born, raised and is studying there. I only like some places/cities in Metro Manila like the Ayala Center, Makati City; Ortigas Center, Pasig City; FortBonifacio, Taguig City; Eastwood, Quezon City; and Greenhills, San Juan City.
Honestly, I hate the City of Manila and some parts of Quezon City because it was congested, worst pollution and poor infrastructure unlike the cities I mentioned above in Metro Manila, wherein it was highly urbanized, brilliant infrastructures (skyscrapers), less pollution and much safer.
I've never been to Cebu City but they say it's a good vacation getaway place (next to Boracay). But I rather chose Metro Manila. |

I love Cebu better than Manila
But I have been in Makati City for so long that I feel more comfortable there than Cebu City.

Metro Manila :) it's home for me and I'm never bored here :)
it's a melting pot of Filipino cultures and even foreign cultures because so many people come here for different reasons, education, night life, work, migration, etc... it's both an advantage and a disadvantage because it's getting somewhat congested in a lot of areas. I just hate the squatters.
But there are a lot of developments too and so much stuff to do :) museums, libraries, parks, malls, restaurants, bars :)
i want to visit Cebu someday too :) but for relaxation, I'd rather go somewhere less "'industrialized" :) that's the whole point of "getting away from it all", after all :) |
