Aiyah to some people especially those earning foreign cash, 40K is a "small sum" to pay to win a girl's heart.

I personally knew a fella, who earned 1.8K but don't have money to support family nor pay for "monthly allowance", coz. "take care" of gf. monthly give expenses RM500-800. Thn. dating & car + maintenance, drive her to & from college so around RM500.
Rest for him lah. How come I can rmrb him so well? Coz. my friend punched his face coz. he borrow his money never return & got the guts to constantly harass my friend for more money. - the face value : priceless!

I think it's lame... someone has done it before and he's just following the trend. The next time you know it, there'll be so many billboard proposals that you're not sure whether it's a real proposal or just a wedding photographer's advertisement.

If the guy is really rich then no problem for me, that kind of proposal would be so one of a kind & I would be happy....but if the guy is not that rich & just do it to please me & after that no money left to start our new life together, its not fun. There are unique ways to propose that can make the girl happy & say yes without spending too much money. Afterall what important is the love you have for each other.

I read from The Sun and The Star. The total cost of this event is not just RM40K but RM54K. You didnt count in the cost of buying the diamond ring for proposal.

He is not filthy rich, but his family. According to the Sun reported, this is David family's business, read here for the quote:

"David, of Petaling Jaya, said putting up the message, which will be there for a month, cost him RM40,000, although it is his familyâ€™s line of business."

Not surprise he might get support from his father??
