It is'nt the Chinese embassy that will issue you a proof about your marital status. It is only the Embassy that will translate and authenticate the documents you will present to them that certifies you're still single and not married.

I guess you are in Canada.... in the USA, a copy of your FEDERAL Internal Revenue service Tax form for year 2007 that you filed showing that you filed as SINGLE is one proof that they DO allow in the USA to prove your marital status... If you were divorced before, you must get a copy of your divorce papers... these you should HAVE or call your divorce lawyer and maybe HE has a set of these papers... also proof that you are single NOW... Also a Passport I think also has a box for Marital status checked and that too is proof of your status... those documents you should already HAVE in your possession.. If YOU are not from China, your documents would NOT be obtained from the Chinese Embassy ANYWHERE unless you filed them there to get a visa for a trip to China......

I'd suggest calling the Embassy itself and asking them. Unless their staff is on this site, you won't get very many helpful answers.

wait, if you are getting married to this girl, she should already know that you aren't married otherwise she doesn't trust you or someone she knows doesn't believe you. I would be careful with this one!!!

wait the minute. why would the Cininese Embassy would have a record of your Married status? In the US you have to go to your local court house to get your records. HMMMM I would becarfully dude

You think you love this lady ? Take a plane,train,bus, or whatever and get the needed paper work !
But first make some calls to see if it is really needed.You should be able to find this information on line.
Two things bother me, you using the word "beautiful", and also "getting married there". You're rushing things, or she is. I'd spend some time together before you decide anything.
If you haven't written for at least a year, you're making a mistake.

Why go through all that trouble and get married?

She will end up taking 1/2 of all your properties along with the monthly alimony (depending on the length of your marriage) Not to mention, lots of temptations out there once you do get married too (younger women, hot desperate housewife etc.)

Isn't it much better for you to find a chick/girl/woman locally rather than long distance? (Cultural differences etc.)

So avoid the misery and not get married. You know why divorce is so expensive? (Answer: Because it's worth it...)

you could always call that chinese embassy and find out. normally if you marry a chinese girl coming to your country (if that is what you intend), all of this stuff might be neccessary to get her a visum. a 48h drive for your marriage - a lot of people have done more than that? Especially in China people have suffered much more hardship just to propose...

However, if question is if you should marry a chinese girl, you are fooling yourself. should you marry THIS girl? address your differences and your needs. make your choice. that's your power being a man. A "good" chinese girl will do everything to have you marry her, but will do just as much for you. and your family.

you should assess you priorities, what you want, and take your choices. and take any consequences.
