Don't worry girls you and your twin will not stand out here in Thailand. To many attractive local girls here already. Your just look like an other tourist. Try going to Koh Chang or Koh Samed.
Tin you live here and you think Samui is only 333 km from Bangkok? I doubt it. |

It's safe for both of you. Unless, of course one of you will be doing something's wrong or carry on drug, or killing someone or anything of the sort, then it will not be safe for both of you because you look alike. |

YOU may genuinely think you are "attractive", but doubtless there are thousands who would disagree! In Thailand (as in any other society on Earth), the way to be "safe" from opportunistic crime is not to flaunt what you have. If you are dressed better than everyone around you, behave as though you just KNOW that you are better than everyone around you, and expect to be treated like a queen, do not be surprised if someone steals your wallet or one of your children....
You do know what festivals occur in Thailand in mid-January, and are prepared with respectful & appropriate responses when someone greets you, right? |

You and your twin must be very handsome.
Thailand is very safe, and if you're very handsome you cannot avoid so much attention from girls.
Thais are quite familair with caucasian as millions of tourists come to Thailand whole year round. If you just dress normally, don't wear any punky clothes and accessaries, you will be find.
Keep expensive cloths and jwelly at home, these stuff would draw fatal dangers to you no matter where you are.
Come and have a great time, |

It's a little unclear what your're asking. What's your age; what do you want to do? I've been there. Some of my children have been there. My younger daughter married a man whose parents (both M.D.'s) were born there. I have never met a Thai I didn't like, a lot. Generally speaking, you won't find more friendly, honest, decent, and accepting people anywhere.
Right now there's some political upheaval in the country. Thailand is a fiercely independant country that has resisted numerous invasions. This particular probalem has to do with corruption and $$. Something completely unknown to us the USA.
If you want to see the country and avoid the political stuff, the first place I would recommend is Sukothai. It's the first capitol of Thailand and a holy site. It's impossible to be there and not feel a kind of peace that you've never experienced before (well, at least that's true for me.)
Then there's Phuket. South of Bangkok along the coast by a couple hours. It was hammered in some tropical storm a few years ago, but I can't imagine that it hasn't recovered enough to blow you away. |

One of you can go but the other will have to stay home. Thailand does not allow twins. |

The way you are writing this post sounds like you expect to be fawned over and only pretend that it is a problem!
Go to Thailand and have a nice time. If no one fawns over you like the little boys did in school - that's the breaks kid!
You should be reasonably safe, just like it is in Ireland! Don't mess with dope or do dodgy things and you will be okay!
Wear expensive clothing, that is okay - for street vendors that is! The more you look like you have some money the more they expect to charge you or the bigger tip they expect to get! Dressing down a bit saves you money, unless you two are extremely generous and enjoy paying more for everything and see everyone around you with their hands out looking for you to put money in them!
There are men who will approach you, especially in Phuket, they make their earnings off of lonely female tourists!
Happy trails. |

My friends went last year, they loved it. They spent a few days in Bangkok and then flew to some smaller islands and did the rain forest zip chord thing. It's fine, just don't wear low cut things and attract attention to yourselves. |

no matter where you travel you have to be careful. iv been planning backpacking around Europe for nearly a year, and places i though would be safe, though research and going on forums, turn out not to be so safe. my biggest suggestion is maybe taking a 3 person, a strong male figure, two beautiful twins travelling alone, could be asking for trouble. Thailand is like any other country is has it good and bad areas, all , but its how you conduct yourself in these places which matter, how you dress, if you learn the local language, your less likely to be ripped off or taken advantage off by the locals. all i can say is if you plan every detail like where you might go on each day and leave that with family, and you contact them by txt, if they don't here from you, they know that something might be wrong. p.s if they speak good English doesn't mean they can be trusted. |

Yes, a nice safe place is Koh Samui. A nice island 333 kilometers from Bangkok. You can fly there from bangkok. No Tsunami's there.
How do I know if it is safe I live there. Originally from Key Largo , Fla. Stay at O. P. Bungalow in Chaweang Beach. Tell them Herman sent you. Pan is the owners name. Good Luck.
Most of Thailand is safe . Maybe Hat yai is a little troublesome. The Muslims get rowdy at times. Nice that you are attractive, you all will be a nice addition to the beach scene. WOW. |

I would suggest Bangkok ,it's pretty calm there, not very many sketchy people either. The hotels are pretty nice too.
Secondly, these people could care less about what you look like, unless you strongly resemble a celebrity. |

i felt safer there at night than in an england city.
i would recommend. yeah it has its dodgy areas, but you have to go to thailand, its amazing, the south and other tourist areas would be the nicest for a holiday , and they generally have more money there so its a bit nicer, but it is conservative muslim , there so they dont enjoy topless bathing etc.
ignore all the naysayers, you will have a great time.. you don't need to greet anyone with anything, not when i went anyway, they like tourists far more than we do, they are always friendly the thai people.
i broke down on koh pgnan ngan and was walking in the middle of the day , sweat pouring down my face, and a lady picked me up and took me to my hotel, she refused to take any money. just a great example of the attitude of the thai people.
as with any where you need to be street smart, but you will have a great time if you go. |

Young females, expensive clothes, jewelery would stand out almost anywhere in asia, latin america, middle east; in Thailand they scream for attention. It's a bit like pot luck, not knowing something might or might not happen - how far are you ready to push it? If you do go, avoid the restive south and unstable Bangkok (internal politics).
Luxury hotels in Bangkok city have been reporting occupancy rates as low as 20% - alarming because this is the festive holiday season where it occupancy usually hovers around 80%. The demonstrators camping in the international airport caused a shut down; forcing flight cancellations and a whopping damage to the tourism industry. |

As you know, Thailand is a very affordable country to visit and it is also incredibly beautiful especially the beaches. However on the flip side,Thailand is known as a travel site for Men (get my drift).
Walking street in Pattaya and Patpong in Bangkok are made foe Men and there's a saying..."Good guys to go heaven, bad guys go to Pattaya".
Depends on where you are trying to go, in general its safe. Let me put this another way, I'd let my son go to Thailand but not my daughters. I hope this puts things into perspective. |

You will both be fine, Thailand is safer than many countries, as long as your sensible. Phuket, Samui and Krabi are all well known and good resorts. If you want to stand out then wearing jewelry, gold and flaunting your money will make you a centre for attention. I would avoid pattaya and parts of Bangkok, unless you want to be propositioned!
Read the FCO guidance and get a copy of Rough Guide or Lonely Planet Guides to help plan your journey and good advice.
As always people like Khun Bob give good advice. |

Hi.
I have spent a lot of time in and around Thailand. Coming from South Yorkshire in England I maintain that Thailand is alot safer than my home town. Ha!
There is, as always with any foreign travel, the minor problem of being "hustled". It has been known to happen to a few people I met. Generally it is local people taking advantage of tourists struggling to do currency conversions fast enough. I have never come across violence towards tourists in Thailand. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but I have never seen it.
The best advice, buy a Lonely Planet/ Rough Guide/ AA guide. They will advise you of all customs, do's and don't and what to look out for.
I will also be heading out there mid January so I we may cross paths depending on where you are heading.
Hope you enjoy your trip and hope this helps. |

You will be safe. But it is not advisable to go wearing lots of expensive jewelery. There is a lot of poor in Asia and theft is very high. Western men get all the attention!!!!
Some of these answers are rubbish. I have worked in hospitals for 30yrs as Medical Technologist, have spent 7 years in Thailand, never had any 'shots'. Thailand is like any other country including UK, there are good areas and bad areas. Most touristy areas are well patroled by police and are usually well served by good eating, accomadation, shopping and nightlife. |
