Pak Lah chose to remain...?

as the PM. Do you think that he made the decision himself or did someone else (I think Khairy) pressured him to stay?

I love all the answers given and I'll be having a challenging time picking the best one.

He has the support of his comrades and cronies...well even Mahathir ask him to step down and take the resposibilites.
All i can say is our Malaysian or rather BN mindset don't have the gentleman style to resign in dignity. They are still following the style of 60's and 70's leadership!
I salute to Koh Tsu Koon for accepting the defeat and shows the democracy works...
In today's world where technologies have made leaps and bound our leadership under BN still in backward stage.
They are still dreaming of having a comfortable ruling power and controlling all the components but they didn't realise we have internet and sms to relay the power of message.
Now the voters have send the message strongly, i hope they will learn from the mistakes of neglecting the citizens problems...

tak kan najib@altantuya pula yang become prime minister....

I'm happy ! Perak is now a true multiracial state ! .. haha

and Pak Lah ... blah laa!!!!! .... even our Tun want u to resign ... be more responsible and get a new son-in-law ... otherwise your cucu also will be hated by the future generation ... go to hell khairy and get lost pak lah!

----edit------

Shim: dun worry so much ... i also dun expect such situation will occur in Perak ... but we need to teach 'em a lesson ... otherwise Perak will always become ... "pekan koboi" ... (do u think Sultan Azlan [I love u] will allow any terible happen in Perak ? .. hehe ... dun worry ya ...

Here is not USA, he will surely choose to stay for another 5 years ... some of you are not "there" so you can't imagine how HUGE the 'cakes' called projects are there.

btw, some internal 'forces' are going on behind the scene to 'request' him to leave his chair ... show time ...

Adi Keladi
I have no idea why he still can't read the message from the people. The message is very obvious, even beyond the opposition's expectation.

He doesn't have much choice. He just can't quit now otherwise the country will be thrown into chaotic political instability of momentous proportion. He have to let the political situation stabilizes first before relinquishing his premiership. His stepping down is a foregone conclusion otherwise the forthcoming UMNo elections, he would be unceremoniously kick out of UMNO by mobs of angry and frustrated UMNO supporters. To save face, in a few months time when conditions are more favorable he would announce his political retirement to make a gracious exit. No one can save him not even Khairy or whosoever for that matter. He is 100% responsible for the current political dilemma.

I think that was his own decision, with a lot of influence from his beloved son-in-law... =D

Its not our duty to worry about bodohwi, let umno insiders finishes him off.
It is best for bodohwi to remain as PM until umno general meeting. As the Lingam scandal is not finish plus Altantuya murder case is still not finish.
We cannot just elevates Najis to the post of PM , until the murder case is settle.

Of course by delaying in kicking out bodohwi is also dangerous, as Kera Jantan will waste no time in plundering the country.

Actually Pah helah made the decision himself , not because of Kera Jantan.
Pak helah dont want to let down his lady jean danker.Maybe jean danker will ask him to step down in few more months.

there seems to be controvesy surrounding his announcement not to resign and some indicate that he soon will in fact step down.

If he choose to remain and things are the same as before i.e. nothing significant done to reduce the impact of the rising living cost etc. then it is NO GOOD. A big chunk of the rakyat has given him a clear message and he must take heed, otherwise there will be chaos (share market already down 90 points now !!!)

I think Pak Lah made the decision himself as he is not a child (in Western world a leader in this situation will 100% let go but then we are not westerner). The others asking him to remain are most likely have interest in seeing him staying i.e. takut projek masing-masing terbengkalai ???

anna
He doesn't want to give up his title as a PM.

He might choose to stay if he is thick-skinned like Samy Vellu. He didn't do a good job as a prime minister and there's no reason he should remain . NOBODY wants him, and he 'd better get the message right. Najib won't be any better than he was, neither. When Pak Lah leaves, make sure he brings Khairy along with him. That man is resented by many and is a disgrace, in this country.

Optimus Nate Primalâ„¢
no need to nervous about perak. mr nizar is the new mb, and pakatan BA will make sure perak is more precious than yesterday.

I believe the result has shown it all that we are unsatisfied with the current government and needed change. And yes, the opposition has won and the people's voice had been heard. That should be enough for now. The truth is, who do we have (as a good leader) to lead Malaysia now (if Pak Lah does step down)? Najib won't deliver, and we are yet to see what Anwar can do. Change is needed especially during time like this. However, going to the extreme will only over turn the boat and kill everyone on board. Let Pak Lah learn his lesson and do what is needed of him to straighten what is so wrong for now.

Mr. Bobo [Chantek ker..]
after the election tsunami, he might have considered to step down.. yet the UMNO clan gives their strong support .

s7evens
He should resign..

agree with GH..even Tun also ask him consider to resign.

Scary Banana
Of course he don wanna step down. Can take duit rasuah wor..
did u know that he owns a USD$8m yatch in Turkey,
USD$50m private jet
and
RM60m house in Perth, Australia?

These are confirmed by Dr.M and the source of this information is Malaysiakini.

Ryuzaki "L" The KiD
They'll called him a big loser if he chose not. Sometime, when come a big lose, come a big responsibility. Pak lah should stay to prove people that they made the 'wrong' decision during the GE..

As stated in the news. I'm not surprised to hear that.
There's 1001 possibilities why he remain to stay.
KJ? He's nothing compared to Najib.
NJ just slithering around both PL and KJ's neck.

And for Perak, the future either uncertain or could be better.
The anxiety and the thrill is in the air.
Politics, just like candles, it burns to shine, when its gone,
it will be replaced by fresh new candles and ready to be replace again.

yarharhar.

No, i think that's his own decision....

But, i think Pak Lah should back off...

Let Najib be the new PM. It's 1st in history of UMNO...55% only?!

Once when Mahathir was the PM, UMNO won 2/3...never less....

Look, now, what has happened?? Whose fault is this?
