No doubt, the Philippines is a tourist must-see. Nature has endowed it with the best sanctuaries, from flora to fauna, to offer discriminating tourists. Indonesia's Bali pales in comparison with the Philippines' Boracay beach. Costs to savour the country's tourist come-ons are relatively low compared with those in other Asean countries. The inflation rate remains consistently low, averaging 3 per cent annually
- Daisann McLane, The New York Times excerpt from the Business Times-Singapore, Online Edition, October 20, 2003
"I am a former Koronadalian and I reside her now in the USA. I visit Koronadal everynight in the Lakbay Pilipinas Website. It is something to be proud of. Koronadal at night in the picture is indeed one of the tourist attractions.Makes me feel homesick of home. Keep up the good works and Congratulations for the many accomplishments in Koronadal. May God bless Koronadal and the people. And may God always shield it from the destructions of the terrorist. From US with love!!!! "
- Beth Corneta McGraw, Bentonville, Arkansas
"I enjoy Boracay for its beautiful beach and carefree environment. Pearl Farm is a nice and relaxing place to be and the people are very friendly. Bohol has a lot of history, there are lots of old churches, and I truly enjoyed listening to the children’s choir and bamboo organ performances,"

"To say that Filipino hospitality is expansive is an understatement."
- Daisann McLane, The New York Times read more
"You'll find plenty of natural wonders in the Philippines — dramatic waterfalls, beautiful beaches, ancient rice terraces, hills that resemble chocolate drops, reefs teeming with aquatic life. [But] the real natural wonder of the Philippines is its outgoing people ... Seldom will you meet people so ready to smile, joke, laugh and befriend travelers. If you believe that the most important travel experience is to make friends and to learn about people, rather than simply to tour temples and museums, then the Philippines is your country."

"Batac, in the province of Ilocos Norte, is worth the trip on its own merits; it is one of the most beautiful regions in a beautiful country, with rice fields, beaches and old Spanish churches."
- Seth Mydans, The New York Times read more
"The grins on divers' faces say it all. 'That was brilliant!' gushes a British tourist, flopping onto a bench after his third submersion of the day. If the island rhythms lull you into listlessness—and there is some serious hammock swinging to be done—one prime snorkeling spot can be reached a mere five strides from the main beach in Apo village. Just wade in chest deep and watch."

"To those who know it well, the Philippines is one of the travel world’s best-kept secrets ... Step beyond Manila’s bright lights and discover virgin tropical rainforest, idyllic coral-studded seas, spectacular volcanic mountains and ancient rice terraces."

"Every now and then Acong would call out, 'So, what do you think of my place?' He meant this coast of Palawan, the whole of it. I said truthfully that it was one of the best places I had ever been."
-Paul Theroux, Outside magazine Read more
"There are countless spectacular sights scattered throughout the [Philippine] archipelago, including the strange Chocolate Hills of Bohol in the Visayas; the volcanic crater Lake Taal, south of Manila; the burial caves of Sagada, 18km (11mi) from Bontoc; the easygoing port city of Cebu, where Magellan marked the beginning of Christianity in the Philippines by erecting a cross; and 5,000 uninhabited islands to explore."
- Lonely Planet
"The Philippines will turn every notion you ever had of Asia on its head. Centuries of colonial rule have resulted in a delightfully schizophrenic country of potent but conflicting influences."
- RoughGuides.com
"Coconut and palm trees rooted like a backbone along white sand beaches, bowing to the warm clear blue waters . . . The archipelago of 7,107 islands and islets that makes up the Philippines will impress all your senses with its diversity and beauty. Its relaxed nature, colorful personality, friendly people, and inexhaustible activities are like dessert for the spirit. And the fact that there are so many islands means you'll find endless stretches of pristine beach to wrap yourself in secluded paradise whenever you please."
- Frommer's 2003 Guide
'The outstanding beauty of the land, the many picturesque towns and villages, the abundance of uncrowded islands and beaches, the excellent dining, and the hospitality and gaeity of the people offer rewards all their own."
- Fodor's New Edition, October 2001
"Even with the coming of modernity, Boracay remains a place of surpassing beauty. It certainly can continue laying claim to the title of 'the world's most beautiful tropical island.'"
- Concierge.com Read more
"Start with a seven-day whitewater-rafting descent of the boulder-choked Cagayan River, which churns down Luzon's Sierra Madre and through the island's last remaining rainforest. You may not be able to identify every one of the butterflies along the way (the Philippines have 895 species) because you'll be too busy paddling."
-Outside magazine ("Best trips - 2001") Read more
"It is almost unimaginable that a country with old-growth forests and a small manufacturing base and limited resources would agree to stop logging for the sake of the environment; and it is something that far more prosperous — and forested — countries (the United States, Canada, Brazil, the Congo) would never consider. But that is what the Philippines did when it passed a Palawan logging ban in 1992 — a ban that earned the country several well-deserved awards from the UN."

The Philippines is a Third World Nation of the First Order. Poverty and crime are rampant. The government is the most corrupt in the world. The population is out of control. All of the countries resources are depleted. Unemployment is the highest in Asia. The air, water and soil are so polluted. And the sad part is, that it is getting worse each year. |

Why do you ask?
The Philippines is a country blessed by God. Rich soil, weather's great, white sandy beaches. Nice and friendly people too. Don't worry about not being able to understand what language we speak cuz the Phils. is the 3rd most english-speaking country. |

it is a tourist must see, most beautiful country in the south east asian region with every eyecandy and adventure that you can think of in one packaged archipelago!
sadly, the country and it's people are not tourist-friendly, popular sights are fast becoming an eyesore and abused such that people prefer the second-best places like thailand and (now) vietnam. |
