I'd rather go around the Philippines first.
I haven't been to places, I haven't tasted the dishes (1001 Adobo styles), I haven't seen the sights. For me (an aspiring chef), it'd be better first to know what your country has to offer. I want to be familiar with my people's own flavors. |

I want to see and explore my own island first before any country. I've been to several provinces in the Visayas and in Luzon and I would like to explore Mindanao next. After that I'm planning to go out of country probably in Thailand, Hongkong or Singapore. It would be nice to learn other people's culture as well and compare it with our own. That way I'm widening my ideas and cultural awakening as well. |

there is a Filipino saying that goes " Wag maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan" and I live up to it... as a Nature lover... Philippines is somewhat a paradise for me.. and I feel very much privileged because I was born here... -_- |

I want to explore and see my own island. When it comes to pure happiness I would say no place like home.
Been in Camiguin, planning to go there again.Hopefully next is Siquijor,I want to see the mystic island that washed by the thoughts of black magic, then of course the hundred island place, then Baguio.WOW..I wish all of that will come true! |

i never imagined or think of being out of the philippines my whole life so i had been traveling around the island and i enjoyed every single part of it specially cocoloco beach resort in palawan that was a really great month vacation and one day i started seeing myself traveling outside of the philippines and now i am living in a country that i've never imagined that i would be that made my life changed in a better way. Always take one step at a time and your dreams will come true. |

Well, i preferred leisure trip within the Philippines and i have done it several times. I would love to visit other countries with famous landmarks but, i think it would be better if i know the famous tourist location in our our country first. |

I'm here in the US...
if I am given a chance on a leisure trip, with enough money to travel back home, good timing, and if I'm ready-to-go, I'd go to the Philippines and explore the top destinations...
if I am given a chance on a leisure trip, but I only have enough money to just travel around where I am now, and I only have enough time to do that, I'd be traveling here, not in my homeland...
so it really depends on your situation... like me, I'm not living in the Philippines right now... |

there's so much to be explored in my country - the philippines - so i'd love to be able to go island hopping there. but should the opportunity for travel outside my country happens then i'd take that too. |

Exploring my own island. There are so many places here in the Philippines that I want to visit.. Corregidor, Ilocos, Batanes, Cebu, Bohol, Zamboanga, Davao, etc.
I want to explore the whole Philippines first before going abroad. |

Well,I'd definitely take my chance going somewhere outside the country since it is a leisure trip so I might as well treat myself by seeing new places, cultures and surroundings apart from what i have been seeing around here though there are still more places unexplored in our country but I have a lifetime though to see them. |

Philippines first, but its very sad to say that Philippines does'nt have a decent infrastracture when it comes to tourism. Mostly , the local goverment of the provinces are the ones trying hard to improve themselves to lure tourists eventhough they don't have enough funds.
Philippine tourism is very low compared to other Asean countries. The only place in the Philippines that I can think of that will attract so much tourist are the congress hall and goverment offices where all smiling alligators and crocodiles are there pretending to be humans. , all are surnamed Corruptions. Sorry not all because some are surnamed Plunderers. |

i prefer exploring our own island. Know your surroundings first. Or if you already did that, the next island close to you is a good choice. |

Filipino's during their youth, have in some form or another travelled to a few locations in the Philippines. Be it due to school excursions and educational tours, or due to to relatives living in another island or province in the country.
There are a few lucky one's who does stay put in one place for a good amount of time.
This is one of the reasons why we normally look forward to travelling outside the country and going on liesure trip to nearby HK, Singapore or for those who can afford, US, Europe, Australia and Japan/Korea.
However, as time passes by, to really enjoy the liesure, for rest and relaxation, local destinations are beginning to sound better and better with services and locations at par or even better than some found abroad. Like Palawan, Boracay, or Davao, the Philippines offers great sites to see.
Which is at this point in time, more and more Filipinos tend to explore or visit our own island.
You have two things going for you when you visit the Philippines, for domestic trips, you have no problem on lost time, and the cost is really really cheaper than flying out to the US and staying at a hotel there.
If it is liesure to relax and have a great SPA day, a doemstic tour is better.
Plus you dont need to bring back a whole balikbayan box for pasalubong.

for me, i think my priority will be exploring my own island because it would be a shame if i know things about other places but when i'm asked about my place and i don't know anything, that will be a very huge shame for me.
as people say, practice nationalism because your place is where you belong. |
