Why not?
Selangor can visit Europe anytime of the year if they so wish.
The fear is that MU is too popular for Asians and we need to protect Asians from good football and dish out the same stuff that fewer and fewer people want to watch.
Asian football should step up and compete on an equal footing and not rely on protectionism to survive. You may say MU is milking money from fans but let's get real, this is today's world and football is big money. All the big clubs do it. The small clubs are struggling to compete. But there is a place for everyone. The small clubs are the feeders to the big clubs (selling their best players) until they grow big themselves. The system still works. |

Again it all boils down to dollars:
Bin Hammam the president of the Asian soccer confederation called the planned trip by Man U "immoral, unethical, and disrespectful" because it clashes with the Asian Cup.
He also added: "I would say Asia for Asians,"
"Bin Hammam, a businessman from wealthy Qatar in a continent of vast inequality, threatened sanctions against Malaysia if it did not cancel the United game"
So with the threat of losing million dollar contracts from Qatar the Malaysian government told the Football Association of Malaysia to shoo Man U away.

In the 1st place the AFC shouldn't have organised the tournament at that time knowing that the European leagues will have their summer breaks. These are the time where we Asian football fans are looking forward to see our favourite stars playing in our country live instead on TV.
Even if MU wouldn't turn up to our doorstep i don't think it will make any difference how the Asian Cup will boost the region's local support. |

Personally I'm looking forward to see MU in action once again in Malaysia.
As we know Malaysia is capable in hosting any world class event since forever.
But to see our national team to be slaughtered in the field by them it would be quite an embarrasment to our country especially in event of 50th National Day.
Everyone in the world will make a joke for our national team including me..wakakakaka |

A top club wants to come to Malaysia and you have to ask if they should come to Malaysia?. |

If not in July, when? When will they have time? The next season starts in August and definitely you think Man U will postpone their visit to clash with their games?
AFC Chairman is already saying that AFC Cup is second rate in comparison to Man U visit. He is afraid people will watch Man U and nor AFC Cup. So he is acknowledging this. So what is he going to do to make Asian football first class in the first place?
He should have looked and say this visit is good for Asia, because there are other clubs like Liverpool coming too. So it looks like he is not a Man U fan at all. if he is accusing Man U only
What else can I say? |

i agree with Anderson, they can come for a visit but not play ball....its too embarrasing....it may end up to 5 - 0 ....MU -5, M'sia - 0.
Maybe if the malaysian footbal team could teach them a bit of sepak takraw then maybe they can win .... |

Man U has recently cancelled its visitation of Malaysia.. instead Chelsea FC will visit Malaysia. |

nono... MU shouldn't come...
Ferguson should be writing excuses down to prepare themselves excuses form upcoming losses.
When they win they say they're the champion, when they lose they blaim everything.. rooney injured lah.. grass wet lah. this lah. that lah... they just cant accept the fact that they lost. |
