Are you kidding? This is really a lifetime opportunity. You really should go because it is your future. The main reason is because there's really no more future in Malaysia. Everyone is just dying to get out and you are pondering about it? I wouldn't think twice unless if that job is irrelevant to what I do.
The other reason you should go is because your boyfriend is there. You should be happy that at least your boyfriend is there and he could always be the best company when you are down. So your case, it won't be so bad after all.
Don't know what's the standard of living there but the salary + bonus is too attractive to say no. Even after some years of working experience, you can always return to Malaysia and your salary will like rocket high for sure.
Go for it girl. You are the second person I know that had the opportunity to go Dubai. My the other friend is there for 3 years contract and he is partying like mad. I guess you'll enjoy just as much too.
Family of course is important but they will of course always encourage you and be by your side both mentally and morally. Anyway, although it's far but it is only a phone call away. Maybe it's time you learn how to stay apart from your parents and be more independent. |

Have you ever been that far away from home? Take the plunge, if nothing else it will enlarge your horizon, get to know a new culture, new people, and it looks good on a CV. You can also save some money, as I suppose you are still young - this will come in handy for your future children. Also: once you have children you will most probably not be willing to travel that far any more and take up employment in a foreign country, so profit of it now! |

Well, the pay is good, good to accumulate wealth while with your bf too. Worth considering. |

as long as accomodation is provided (which means free utilities as well -local calls, electricity, water) then i think u should go.
Yeah u will miss home for the first 2 months. By the third month i am sure that Dubai will be a home that u love. You will get used to living there and soon u will find that there are a lot of things Dubai has to offer which u wont find it here. I lived in Bahrain for a year. There are many things i can do in Bahrain that is unheard of here. So just relax and enjoy the experience.
All the best to you and your boyfriend. If u miss Malaysia, just get online and we all will be here to cheer u up. :) Gindy's ikan buntal question will be waiting for u. Right Gindy? |

You are young. Who deosn't want to see the world? I know what you mean though. When I first leave my family to work/study/travel, the first 3 months is really not that easy. I got homesick a lot but there are lots of good things too. You'll get to see the world, understand a different culture, making lots of new friends, and most of all, experience. And with the amazing technology stuff these days, you can always be in touch with your family and friends. There is no excuse. I'd really love to see Dubai and see the building progress of the next tallest building in the world. I heard that Dubai is amazing. After all, the decision is yours. Let us know either you're going or staying. Good luck!
ps Musa sure will cry a lot after you go..hehe ,,just teasing you.. |

Hi Matilda...
I think you'll be so busy working there that you'll forget to miss home...lol
Anyway,as all in here said, this is a golden opportunity, furthermore you are not alone, your bf is there for company. So it can't be that bad right?
I heard the night life in Dubai is quite happening too...Keep us in here updated ok...
U go girl! |

Well, if it is your only choice, then yes. The sad thing is that money is many things. Hmmm, Dubai is not so bad, you can have the time of your life in any place, if you are willing to try.
If i were you, i would go, because living overseas is a very rare opportunity. Sometimes i get sick of just seeing the same thing over and over again.
Well, the decision is up to you. Good luck. |

Hi Maltida,
Long time haven't heard from you, thought you had move to Dubai with your bf....
Be cautious of your take home pay after deduction on tax or other clause.
I believe you have discussed with your family members about it and can stand on your own, right?
So, go ahead and don't look back, it's a challenge to work in another country. Of course you'll miss home but it will take awhile to adjust life out there in the dessert.
Are you gonna wear the 'purdah' on your face?
Anyway, hope your bf takes care of you as much as his bike!
Cheers,
Big bro.... |

Sounds like a good deal. I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience. Plus it's good for your career, overseas working experience is highly looked upon here. |
