I smoke cigarette, and loving it too.
Smokers should have the freedom to smoke in open spaces but this has to be balanced by awareness especially if there are pregnant women/children around.
Often i opted for open air area to dine, understandbly also a smoking area, it really annoys me when the minute i light my cigarette, a family with babies would join me at the next table, although there are plenty of other tables in the restaurant. Its really unfair for people like me.
If u talk about drinking joint, yes smoking should be allowed. if u are a smoker, not puffing while drinking would feel kinda awkward aint it..Smokers pub is definitely a plus point.
Smoking is not a hobby and it isnt a cool habit. But for people like me who cant find ways to kick the habit, its unfair to expect me to accomodate others even in open spaces. Nevertheless i do look around for signs of any children/pregnant women around before i light my cigarette. |

The question is whether we are considerate to our neighbours.
Smoke all you want in an open area where smoke can easily dissipate. In a crowd, please re-think that option and be mindful which direction your smoke is going.
I once saw a woman empty a pail of water on a guy who was smoking in the London underground. The crowd erupted in loud cheers. Serves him right. |

no.
if smokers wanna smoke, go to open air places.
smoking indoor is selfish because smokers not only harm theirselves but their also harm other innocent people who arent smokers |

Depends on the place where you are at the time. If it is in an enclosed and air-cond room or hall, then it is unacceptable. You can go outside to relieve yourself but not in the room.
Similarly, if you are in an open-aired space, then you may smoke all you like but still, please respect others like don't smoke near children for god sake. Have some consideration for them if not yourself. Everyone knows smoking gives more harm and no benefits.
Some may argue that they just want to release stress or tension. Fine. Again, please find some secluded area. I am not a smoker and I get very annoyed when people smokes in front of me but I could not do anything for I know this is liberty. Ironically, when I smoked in a club (like everyone else), I don't feel that the smoke was overwhelming. LOL...
Your idea of creating such a 'smoker's pub' is good but how feasible it is, you might have a tougher job to convince the relevant authorities. |

I simply hate smokers..they are the ones who making us who are non-smokers get sick and dying fast!..why dont you smokers give some pity to your ownself and to others too?
Should smokers have freedom to smoke when there is non smokers around?
i would say..NO! and never ..eventhough there arent any non-smokers around..coz the smoke still polluting the air and we the non-smoker still breathes in the same air
and what if millions of people smoke at one time..imagine??

No of course not, in many countries it´s forbidden to smoke for instance in restaurants except if they have "rooms for smoking" and there people don´t get an service. .But we should also think of other people if there are none smokers around, even if it is in the open air. |

No way, smoking is extremely unhealthy. Just because other people want to ruin their lungs and cough them up and get cancer doesn't mean we do. In my opinion, smoking should be illegal. It ruins people's health and one they start they can't stop and now so many teens are smoking and starting on from an early age. Smoking around other people can be very unhealthy to them, it is rude to only think about yourself. Stop smoking or go somewhere where there is nobody around and smoke your life away (it won't last too long if your a smoker) and make up all the lame excuses you can think of why smoking isnt so bad. |

THe reason of banning the smoke in open area is not because of the non-smoker. Its because of the affected to health to the smokers..
the calculation is simple.
if there is a regulation on banning of smoking in public areas the consumption of smokers will be less for the smokers..
from 5 batang per day maybe drop to 4 batang (minus cannot smoke in public area-lah)
i recall pubs to be smokers heaven.. |

No way. I am an ex-smoker and I know that smoking is hazardous to everyone's health. The toxins linger in the air and fabrics in the smoking room. Stop smoking. It should be allowed nowhere! |

In local malaysian parlance, this would be a 'syok sendiri' (self-pleasure) sort of approach to doing business.
Sounds like a good idea to have a smokers pub though - you should sell your idea to someone. Call the pub "Hard Rokok Cafe" and you'll have droves of puffers coming by. |

Smokers should be free to smoke in or on their own private property without restrictions.
Since a drinking joint is only the owners' private property, the patrons/guests/customers have no rights - only permissions granted by the owner. In this context, if an owner wants to operate a "smokers pub", then so be it.
However, Pub or drinking joint owners may be required by some local laws to provide a safe working environment for their workers. Since smoke (from cigarettes or other combustibles) is a health hazard, any smoking within an enclosed space could be prohibited.
Non-smoking pubs are not such a ridiculous idea. Smokers simply congregate in the smoking area, or outside. |

I believe in most of the pub or Kara-oke wt private room, you can smoke as and when you like it as long as you are in the private room.
Just imagine, if someone is burning something (except cigarette) in a conceal air conditioning room, how would you feel??? |

by all means a smoker pub... but ain't most pubs allowed smoking? currently, don't think there will be hesitation to smoke even if there are non-smokers around. not many smokers in malaysia are sympathetic enough to care about non smokers 'freedom' |

yes i think they should just because some people dont smoke doesnt mean that we should have to suffer for them not wanting to smoke. I need to smoke when i get done eating to settle my food and to relax after dinner. I have a cup of coffee and a cigerette. |

I believe we as smokers have equil rights. I do think there should be seperate areas designated for smokers. If I am in a place with a "blanket" no smoking policy everywhere with no designated area for me to smoke. I'll light up anywhere I please. |
