I can´t see anything wrong. In Great Britain and Australia as well, they use the expression all the time. It´s normal

different countries have different slang ,,,jus have to accept the cultural differences... i guess by saying ..."say again" isnt tat rude if it is said wit appropriate body language , intonation and facial expression. frankly its better than some of the sporean tat jus simply say..,"har???" which is the typical singlish tat they use if they cant hear wat u say n wan u to repeat again. Pardon me is the right word to use ..in fact the best... but probably that person is jus not used to using this word.

We are true Singaporean even though we are colonised by the British for a long time and when the British surrendered to the Japanese we change our mind to stick to our own singlish lah.
Sorry no offence but I agree with Floozy...pardon means sorry and like "sorry me!" that sound even more bad than the "say again" or "repeat again' or "people don't understand you leh" or "choppe".

no it is not rude, don't take offence, it's just one of the normal way of asking you to repeat ur question again. It's normal. not rude.

Rude or not is all depend how you say it. I can always say "pardon me" in a very rude or sarcastic way. Moreover, different countries have different way to say it. It's the behaviour and the way of saying it, but not the words used to determine rude or not.

No only an American, surely would think that this is rude. Say again is frequently heard in the UK too.

"Say again" is even too formal and polite for a Singaporean to use. We just go "huh" or "what" in place of "please repeat again".
Saying "pardon me" is somewhat strange to a Singaporean since "pardon" means "sorry". So, we have to apologise for your unclear message? Weird.
So, in Singapore, not rude at all!

ball000287000444000888
very rude
