Seriously I have lived in both places and I still find singapore a lot better place to live in. There is always the mention about cars being more expensive etc but hey with a great transport system in singapore ... do you really need a car? Crime rate is much lower in singapore. Education is much better.

Many people would tell me - in Sydney you can drive out of town for the weekend and experience nice beaches, mountiains etc ... you can do the same in singapore - malaysia is just a drive away and it has everything sydney has to offer with its drive out of the country.

With the Intergrated Resort in 3 years time ... Singapore would be a lot more livable.

I will definitely say Singapore, especially if u hv a family.

Crime rate is very low. U don't hv to worry abt your kids even if they hv to come home late.

U don't hv to go fetch them as the public transport in Singapore is fantastic with bus n mrt services operating till midnight, n when there's a national event, these operating times will be extended. Otherwise, taxis r avail 24/7.

Food in Singapore r avail round the clock too. Mind u, I'm not talking abt availibility in the cafes in hotels which cost 3 or 4 times more, but at the local coffee shops n food court as well.
U can get a good meal from S$3 in most food court n coffee shops.

In Singapore, there r also supermarkets n departmental stores that operate 24/7.

If u r a night person. there r a lot of pubs and drinking holes that u can visit. They r all easily reachable via public transport as well, though there r also some exclusive places that r only reachable by cars or taxis.

Singapore may be a small island, but there r also lots of places of interests to visit. The Sentosa island is a good place to hang out for the whole family over the weekend. The birdpark, zoo, night safari n Botanic Garden r also good choices.

If u like nature, there r also the nature reserves like the 3 main reservoirs, the wetland park, the Bt Timah Hill as well as Pulau Ubin, etc.

Cost of cars in Singapore may be high but is not a necessity as u can still get around 24/7 by the public transport like the buses, mrt n taxis.

The weather in Singapore is the summer season all year round. So, u don;t have to prepare clothings for the different seasons. Summer clothings is all u need.

Shopping is awesome in Singapore. Most of the departmental stores operate from 9am to 10pm. Major shopping centers can be found all over Singapore not just at the famous Orchard Rd.

Well, I can go on n on.....

whats a flight attendant gotta do with knowing which city is more livable... all u do is serve people onboard a plane.anyways im an Aussie and ive worked in singapore for about 5 yrs, & seriously, singapores a fantastic place to live in, clean , safe and what not...but if you're thinking long term, Sydney would be a wiser choice. the cost of living is so unbalanced with a standard of living in singapore. plus cars are so expensive with all that COE crap.
