I'm glad, actually. And not all that surprised.
The National Coalition has held the power for too long. Corruption and a special rights for Malays have broken the confidents of others.
It's time for a revamp in Malaysia where all born there are considered "bumis", not just the Malays. Anything less will eventually lead Malaysia to be accused of apartheid - and guilty of conduct similar to that of Israel's in its treatment of the Palestinians. |

A blessing in disguise! Great and positive things will come to Malaysia from now onwards. The results show that all races, the minority and majority, have matured and long for better governance and a more authentic form of democracy. The results would even have been more convincing if election was made compulsory. However, still , this is the first positive step on the shorter route now towards a developed nation status by the year 2020. This is certainly a better route towards a truly democratic nation with integrity, equality, and harmony among the races. Way to go, Malaysia--show the way! |

I think every Malaysians is very suprised with the results. Everyone had already expected oppositions would perform better this election but non, not even the oppositions themselves expected BN would fall in Selangor and Perak and at the same time denying BN a 2/3 majority in parliament.
Individually i think the lost of Shahrizat Jalil in Lembah Pantai was the most shocking more than the lost of Koh Tsu Koon and Samy Vello. This is because before the election both Koh and Samy had already been widely criticised by the Chinese and Indians. On the contrary, not much critisms were levelled on her and her opponent being young and inexperienced was not expected to pose much danger to her. At the same time, she was contesting in a Malay majority areas and not many expected there would be a big swing of Malay votes to opposition. Therefore Nurul Izzah's victory over Shahrizat was very very much suprising. |

We the poor citizens are not blind to see those rich families getting their places in matriculation, JPA. Admire at how big their lands can stretched, even with waterfalls! And how expensive and luxury their cars and their homes, would we not blind to see it? They are living and walking around us.
They can afford to hire 10 private tutors for each of their subjects to score all A1s ( every student in Malaysia can score all As too if given such opportunity to have tuitions for each subject) and live in air-conditioned luxury room. YET they can order the manager to prepare a letter to certify they only earn less than RM400 or ask their accountant to assest tax with very little income.
But the poor chaps scoring less that straight As have to study in shabby place, with sawdust-made furniture, perspiring in our hot and wet climate but YET the dad came back with the boss letter insist that the dad earns more than RM1,000.00. in BLACK AND WHITE. THEN because of these black and white, they were not granted a place.
I am only surprised why the government can still win so many seats. |

I'm quite surprise and SV too.
Penang lost to DAP and a new government is on the way, Perak won by DAP and PAS, BN lost and Tajol Rosli refused to be interviewed and nowhere to be seen, a new Perak Chief Minister is on the way. Johor won and Dato' Ghani Othman is still the CM. Kedah and Kelantan are now under PAS, surprisingly Terengganu won by BN.
Wow.
Any more surprises?
Edit: Sorry, I meant Perak not Johor. "Johor barely won and Dato' Ghani Othman is still the CM" :)
