They say that each of us has a soul mate. But what about those who are and have remained single?

Isn't the statement confusing? What can you say?

ms annabelle, one's soulmate is not necessary the person you are married to. i know several married folks whose soulmate is not their spouse but rather a dear friend (same sex or not) who completes them in a way their spouse do not...so yes, doesn't have to be sexual but in a way that is so special it defies any other label but that of being soulmates.

therefore even a single person has a soulmate - someone who transcends the common boundaries of friendship...someone who is always there beyond time and space.

i believe some people are so lucky they have multiple soulmates in their lifetime...but for the unluckey few, they have none at all.

Soulmates are kindred spirits or souls created with the same thread. One can have more than one soul mate and we all have a number of soul mates - a friend, a brother or sister, a lover, a husband or even a stranger.

Well, it seems i am one of those single without soul mate...:D

But i am not losing hope, cause i believe in sayings that "Life begins at 40."

it's a choice!
if you are single, it doesn't mean you don't have a soulmate. some people wanted to stay single, and some say it's a calling!

and a soulmate does not have to be someone from the opposite sex. you can consider your mother or bestfriend as your soulmate!

Having soulmate doesnt mean that he's your future someone..Some are your friend some are you classmate some are your relatives..Soulmate is the one that you feel deep and natural affinity...compatibility is what people say in more common way...

Well,i hope you find one....Good Day

Ms.Annabelle,
i go for moonlight lady's answer, soul mate is not necessary the person we're going to marry and if they are the one supposedly we're marrying with some of them never find each other.Trust me if you are in Phils. and your soul mate lives in other side of the world you need luck to find ways meeting them, probably you never even know they exist.

They are out there. Just a matter of their paths meeting at the opportune time and place. There is a very special someone for everyone. The convergence however is another thing.

Well, I can only speak for myself.

since I was 8 years old, I felt like a soul mate was reserved for me. I knew she was out there some where. I had women come across my path over the years and i thought they were "the one" for me but they were not.
Then I became confused and did not know which way to turn. After a couple of dead end relationships i started to lose my hope of finding my soulmate.

Lo and behold, to my surprise. I crossed paths with a woman who inspired that young 8 year old boy that lives inside of me. This beautiful young woman felt like my prayers over the years finally came through.

We both have a better vision and motivation for our lives.
beautiful Love story.

For those who are single, I wouldn't say that it's because they haven't met their soulmate yet. I'd say that they are either choosy/picky or is just not ready yet.

I've heard and have been told several times that we won't be marrying our soulmates, ever. Some won't even meet their soulmates at all.

I don't know and I'll never know if those statements are true. But I'd like to believe that it is us who makes another person our soulmate. Yes, there is destiny and fate...but if the person you are with right now isn't your soulmate, would you suddenly call it quits?

Those who are and have remained single have "surot" for soulmates. They are everywhere he is, especially when they took residence in his hair. And he could feel their pain and hunger for company. He wakes at night, and would desperately try to grasp his soulmates, but they simply disappear.

(Of course he can't see them. They are hiding in his hair.)

just like Mr./Ms Right, our soulmate just happens...we do not search for it nor does it search us....it a spontaneous thing that could happen (or not happen) between individuals whose paths are destined to meet.....would be really nice if Mr./Ms Right is also our soulmate but it's not always so....still, it could happen to anyone, even among those in the state of single blessedness.

for me, a soul mate doesn't necessarily have to be someone whom you have a romantic relationship with..

it's true, each of us do have a soul mate.
but no one said that we would all meet them!
that's why some people are just called to a single life in which their love and affection is directed to others (not partners) like kids, animals, blah blah.

peanutz
They are their own soul mate.
