I hate to be blunt, but genetics.

- answering to either "pssst" or "hoy"
- pointing with your lips
- talking extremely loud
- being superstitious
- gossiping about the person next to you, loudly
- eating filipino food
- having a least one nurse in your family
- having people ask, "aren't you Mexican?" because of your last name
- being generous
- able to fit 20+ relatives under one roof
- having a huge heart<3

- jeepney at traffic that goes with it.
- close family ties.

-I'm a bit superstitious (Filipinos are still like that).
-I enjoy being with my family & relatives (another Filipino trait)
-I still learn to smile & say, "No problem".
-I loathe those who looks down to my fellow Filipinos.

Even though I worked outside the country I don't forget my childhood friends, my families and my favorite foods. Sinigang, inihaw na baboy, ninakaw na mangga sa kapitbahay na may sawsawang bagoong... wooo sarap...

Certain body language like pointing using lips or raising eyebrows which means a silent Yes or Hello.

Filipinos usually try to argue his way out of a mistake. Try stopping anyone for a violation and you will hear a barrage of reasons that would rival the Supreme Court. To a point it becomes a family reunion when one enumerates his so called top official or military relatives.

Loves boxing, basketball and politics even though one could barely understand or speak English.

Loves to gamble. You always hear "Bahala Na". It is gambling ones destiny. Lotto and **** fighting are also a favorite pass time.

Filipinos love gifts or "pasalubong". It sometimes become a source of corruption.

"Pakikisama" or being with the group. If that group commits a mistake, you should keep quiet or else you will be ostricized or someone with "Walang Pakisama". A virtue which holds true in the Philippine Congress.

- fishballs, squidballs, odocs, etc.
- having dirty icecream
- having a dirty kitchen in our homes (as opposed to the yet separate kitchen)
- having Tito's named Boy and Junior
- having Tita's named Baby
- having taxis w/ the names of the children painted at the rear end of the vehicle
- having tricycles w/ stickers such as "Basta driver, sweet lover"
- having jeeps w/ stickers such as "Barya lang po sa umaga" and having "Hari ng Daan" painted on the mud guards.
- having questions filled w/ "Ano" and answers likewise full of "Ano" make complete sense
- having sentences made up of just one syllable repeated over and over again is actually grammatically correct (Bababa ba? = Are we going down?)

Well, been to most places at least...like Leyte, Samar, Bohol, Cebu, Cagayan, Marbel, General Santos, Davao, almost all city of Metro Manila, Subic, Angeles, Baguio, Tagaytay, Batangas, Antipolo...at kung saan saan pa. Sabi nga, wag maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan.

you may eat a lot of filipino foods, you may write, speak, understand tagalog or other dialect, to me it's more than that. at least you need to know about your history, values of being a filipino. understanding the traditions why filipinos are doing it.

what makes a filipino ,well if you are anything like my daddy, then you are a true filipino.hard worker sun-up to sun-down never to complain, no aches and pains, not even a head ache and can cook the best filipino food ever. very quiet and observing very honest up-most respect for everyone. ask of him anything if he had it ,then it was yours. answer you with a nod of his head or a small sound his favorite saying was never mind or what kind or telling me i was stubborn but in ilocano i was born phx, az moms american,daddy's,from tarlac san clemente that's a true filipino
