Take a deep breath, say a short prayer and go out to taste what the place has to offer. |

It depends on the situation. Sometimes, I like to get settled in my hotel. If I already have a plan, then I go for it. Sometimes, I just like to rest for a bit. |

It depends upon the situation usually, for me. If the flight was short-haul: between two to four hours duration, I usually check-into my hotel and take a walk for a couple of hours, surveying the nearby areas, tasting local food ad drink.
If the flight is medium-haul ( 4-8 hours), I usually take a shower and rest for a couple of hours after check-in and spend the rest of the day relaxing, unless there are some urgent issues.
For long-haul flights, after check-in at the hotel, I usually take a nice long vodka (Smirnoff Blue) with tonic water and sleep out the jet lag and booze, till I'm fresh and energetic once again. |

We drop our bags, have a light bite to eat and start exploring. The excitement of being there is one of the best feelings there is. After all that planning - WE'RE FINALLY HERE!

Change into my walking shoes and go sightseeing right away! Even if it means exploring a foreign-speaking city alone on an unholy hour. Yeah I could be that reckless. |

Unpack, freshen up, then rest a bit.
I know that's three things, but I do it (in that order) within the first hour after check-in. |
