Usually the children wake up at 6 and have bereakfast at home. Then the parents wake up at 730 and go out for breakfast. The 'da pau' for the grandparents and maid.

At home! For me I'll have cereals with MILO (the most famous beverage among Malaysians). Sometimes white/oat bread too. Some like "roti canai" with curry in the morning at mamak stalls.

Say what?

i would ensure my husband and i have breakfast at home. I am good at making mixed omelete and scrambled eggs. I would serve them with hashed browned potatoes, sauteed portobello mushrooms with little butter, baked beans and warm soft croissants. It's sounds a lot but i actually made just a little bit of each.

sometimes i make nasi lemak for breakfast. It is most easy and simple to make.

i think for most working people or those or still single (not all but some) they take their breakfast outside. check out those taman areas..you can find a nasi lemak on table top at every turning corner in the morning...

Sarah
to me breakfast at home is a must with the famliy...it brings the family together. i usually toast bread, sausages/nuggets, bulls eye egg and with some baked beans..ocasionally roti canai, not much of nasi lemak, cause its fatty...
OMG! Shayna...MCD everyday !!! no wonder the goverment is banning fast food...you must be fat ! lol...joking....

When I was posted to Malaysia for 4 years, I had my breakfast everyday outside. Can be coffee shop near my estate, or coffee shop near the train station....

boo
Weekend breakfast is a family gathering, so usually outside, the whole gang. Weekdays, it depends on the mood.

I have breakfast at home. Only if i really have to, i will eat out. Situations where i have to meet friends early in the morning and i dread it. I hate it, its unhealthy coz i dont trust the level of cleanliness at those eating places like mamaks or even austin chase cafe. I often found strands of hair or bits of cockroach body in the coffee or in the omelet.

to amn 1717, how do u define poor? How do u define quality food and unhealthy food? Dont act so uneducated. I bet u prefer the good old days where mother used to make breakfast. Or perhaps u are deprived of those as well.

amn1717
Breakfast is BIG business in Malaysia. In fact any kind of food business will have customers throughout the day.

Many children have light breakfast at home before going to school where during the break, they have another round in the school canteen. Adults rushing to work early in the morning and spending time on the road will also have something light at home and take a break later in the morning. Those who start work later or work near home, usually eat out. The poorer will eat at home which those who can afford it will mostly eat out.
