I've stopped critising. NASA doesn't want to call the Malaysians as astronauts, it is their problem. NASA has a very high standard for an astronaut that even Russian cosmonauts won't necessarily qualify to be called astronauts. Many websites for space travelling call them research cosmonauts. But for me, 18 months training is not for space tourist. Other space tourists have much lesser training than our angkasawan. It's good that our newspapers are calling them angkasawan instead of astronauts. At least "angkasawan" is our term, not NASA's.
By the way, astronaut comes from Latin words which means star traveller. Since when any human astronaut reach any star anyway? Even NASA never have a real "astronaut". Cosmonaut (which means space traveller) or even angkasawan are the correct names.
Whether the money is worth paying for instead of helping poor Malaysians, I don't want to say for now. Since we are already involved in this, we better be serious about it so that our space programme is not another white elephant project. Of course, our money should be used not only for helping the people but also for science & technology development as well. The government should better assure that this will bring great impact to our country other than for boasting purposes, else I'll rejoin other people ridiculing this programme. |

Maybe they should send a 'Proton' into space as well to see how long it lasts
(Just kidding)

The space programme cost is already built into the cost of buying the jets. There is no FREE lunch in the world.
No one is negative towards the country. No one is racist except those fellas here who like to relate 'race' to everything (except my friend --> Mr. He'elehdeni). It is about the taxpayer money.
Whatever done is done. I will pray that our man can come back safely.

We are just here to pass time ;)
Not need to forget, not need to forgive because ... no need to get angry actually!
Forever friends we are .... |

I have nothing to against abt this spaceflight thing but makesure this is not one 'hu hah' event and things get quiet after that w/o any follow up space program.
Look at MSC, anyone still remember when it just launched? and now, can someone even tell me what is MSC? Malaysia Sepang Circuit? Msia super cawan? |

i agree with u ... maybe some of them jealous because Dr Sheikh Muzaphar is handsome, smart, sexy, etc etc or frustrated for not being the chosen one like him ... for me sending him to space is worth for our research and future development especially for 'aeroangkasa' ... i always pray for him to come back safely ... |

Are we ready for that kind of program?
What is the follow up program after this?
What is the actual cost for that FighterJet?
Go & check with those Tsunami victim & those Nipah Virus victim, what did the government do for them. What happen to the fund donated by NGO & individual. |

I'm not negative about it, i just thought that it's not time for something big like this, yet. It's billions of ringgit, could improve everything in the country first with the money. After that they can go to Mars if they want to. |

I dont think so...everybody has got different opinions, moreover compare a few negative thought here with millions positive Malaysians outside of YA? Just chill out... |

The sum of money does give me sick,
Sheikh Muszaphar is so lucky to be,
Thus the idea gives people hick,
An optimist I am, as a Malaysian should be.
Whatever!
**macam pernah tengok je jawapan ni...ehm, tapi di mana ya? |

Ignorant..? Maybe some, but mostly it's because both Angkasawan were Malays. If the word Malaysia boleh is to stand true the angkasawan should not have been both Malays and the people who were involved too should be balanced where the races are concern......
Do you understand the expression " Rasa Kecil Hati" means ? Yea, as simple as that. |

I don't really have to say much in here... rather, I suggest we put ourselves into the shoes of outsiders and 'listen' to their laughters around us...
:-)

On the other hand, I would feel rather stupid to argue with anyone when the real guy in space is having such a great time and smiling down at us... all paid for by our hard earned cash. |

I for one, are really proud of this initiative plan undergoing by our country. I'm proud to be a Malaysian. That's all there is to be said, really.
By the way, on a light-hearted note, I do think that Dr Sheikh Muzaphar is handsome too....lol...really. |

People are not being negative. They are just simply annoyed by the fact that the country is misleading it's people by calling our space tourist as astronaut.I hope that one day Malaysia can have it's own people controlling it's own spaceship, do some worthy research rather than bringing to space some local food, writing some guidebook etc |

our mind is still not into that yet. we're too busy with some petty little things that we forget to enjoy some big achievements like this |

we want the truth facts not Harry Potter facts. What i mean is that we want a true definition of astronaut not Malaysia version of astronaut definition. |
