for those who didn't prefer chewing gums,there're a lot of other breath-freshener sweet out there...or you could also give a bottle of mouth wash...say..listerine etc.?

this works well for my ex-roommate who has a b.o problem,and he didnt take the presents as a sarcastic gesture,after all,i'm his friend and i'm only trying to help him.
now he dont have any b.o probs and became a more confident and better person as a whole.

xlutfix has a good suggestion there, but if that person hates chewing gum or is averse to it due to spending copious amounts of time in Singapore then give them mint candy (sugar free especially if they are health freaks) and also strong, non-stick deodorant like Rexona. This brand has a 'for him' line too.

tell the person straight to his face but say it nicely. include humour if u can.

or:
if he opens his mouth:
a. pinch your nose and ask him whether he just farted. do it a couple of times until he gets it.
b. pinch your nose and ask him what he has been eating coz the smell is pretty bad.
c. ask him what toothpaste he is using coz the smell attracts flies

body odor:
a. tell him straight that his arm pit smell is causing you a migrain and agony that constitutes to mental abuse
b. tell him that you are fainting due to lack of fresh air. Major suspect is his arm pit odor.
c. ask him what shower gel he is using coz the smell is too funky for you.

anyway in this kinda situation usually my mum will put powder/perfume for that person & scold/nag till cows come home IF and only IF after that person refuse to change.

I'm still trying hard to hint to my coworkers & friends their mouth stinks due to smoking. I'm sensitive to smoke due to lung prob. & it really makes me suffocate esp. whn they come to bug me around. Most time, I will try to make them drink water & take mint sweets. But it's hard.. they still smoke so much =
