What's the weather like in the Philippines in August?

I plan on visiting my girlfriend this coming August, I'm curious if I should run into any trouble with tropical storms during that month. From my understanding, there is a wet season and a dry season, but which one August falls under i'm not sure.

I'll be visiting a city about 80KM north of Manila.

Unlike in the US where August is hot, August in the Philippines is raining and there might even have typhoons at that time. This is the start of the rainy season there.

Mabuhay! August is included on wet season but it's not going to rain the whole time. There are also sunny days.

August nowadays is considered as a rainy month. But it also rained till December. See, the trouble with the change of weather? Before, there's no rain during that month. But now, super typhoons occur during August, September, October and November.
Just the same, I am sure, raining or not, you will have a great time. Take care and GOD BLESS.

August is the start of the rainy season. Typhoons will also begin to arrive starting around August.

it will be disgusting cuz its hot and rainy, so very humid...but for some reason when i was in the philippines last august it was the weather was not as muggy as i thought...when it was raining, it wasnt as bad either...so hopefully this year will be the same as well..maybe since we have that 'global warming' scare, the PI might not experience as much rain this year..who knows?

Be ready for rains and storms! It is best to visit the Philippines during summer, this time or during the Christmas season.
Filipinos from all over the world always dreams of having their Christmas in the Philippines.

it's hard to tell considering there's a lot of changes in the weather. but august in the phils would mean rain and shine. there's no telling. you might want to check out the weather perhaps a month or two before you leave.

Hmm well summer starts from march to june, the it's rainy season from july to november, then the cold season starts at december to january, then I gues normal weather at february. Good luck!

i go loony
hello there. It actually depends on which part of the Philippines you are going to. In manila, it's dry at times but you must expect rainfall since it's August.

In a city like Baguio, we get a lot of rainfall from the Middle of May to October. It rains a lot here that even in August when you don't expect a lot of rain in other places and you won't see the sun shine. It's also hard to get clothes dried...

anyway, that's the case in mountainous areas of the country. However, if you consider just 80 kms north of Manila, the weather would be most probably like that of the weather in Manila.... you must predict rain at times.

august is a rainy season in the philippines, u might caught bad weather condition when u got there. 80km north of manila is a lowland area, u might bring a boat for you to ride lols, but no joke.. often this areas are flooded when storms strikes(like pampanga, olongapo, tarlac and pangasinan).

I come from the Philippines, and now live in Australia. The best time for me to visit weather-wise, is May-June. This time of the year is dry, sunny and not a lot of rain. I hate flying on rainy days. Have a good time in the Philippines, I am sure you will enjoy your holiday there.

rainy & humid.

Rainy/Typoon season starts in July and ends in December.
There will definately be tropical storms and you may catch a typhoon or 2. 80 percent of all typhoons hit Luzon.

If you won't consider the global changes in the weather, it should be rainy (wet season). But now, it can be anything.

There's an old term "ina-Agosto" (roughly translated into experiencing August) which refers to a time of hardship mostly caused by the effects of typhoons on Filipino farmers whose crops are damaged, thereby causing financial problems.

August is with the wet, rainy, and sometimes stormy season. The place you mention must be in Bulacan. It would likely be affected by storms as most places there are low, and if there are storms, though the place may not necessarily be flooded, the road leading there would likely be.

Only when the place happens to be in the middle of what they call eye of the storm, that properties and people in the area would be in trouble.

Well
Hot, rainy and humid. 80 km north, isn't that Angeles City?

warrior is a child
damn dude was really a damn. don't bother listening to him. wet season starts june and normally lasts until november. there would be some heavy rains and storms but nothing to worry about. after a few hours of rain, everything would be back to normal again. provinces don't normally experience flood so you'll still have a fun time visiting your girlfriend.

Just Me
Hot and humid.
