I like local guys... My husband is a filipino but he grew up in Guam just like me... and despite him being in a foreign country or place he still was inculcated with the pinoy values and cultures.

Local guy: advantage is, you don't have to adjust much because you're culture is the same. the most romantic words are of course you're own language. it's more heartfelt. This is just the general stuff because it will also depends on the person if he's really good (or not) for you.

Foreign guy: you will need to learn a lot and adjustments on the culture is huge. You also need to learn his language to communicate (esp if it's not English). there's a lot of work getting a foreigner. above all, these stuff wont matter if you really love the person. sky is the limit to make both ends meet.

well i used to like foreign guys... but MOST of them are just so horny!!! they always think about SEX!! and besides you can't tell if they're really sincere in everything they say... on the other hand local guys (filipinos) are well SOME of them are horny also but you can easily tell that they're sincere...

in short i prefer local guy... (and i'm getting married this february)

I married a Filipino who lived abroad for 13 years years and we both moved back here to the Philippines. He still speaks tagalog and his english has no fake accent. He doesn't deny he's Filipino nor does he pretend to be a foreigner. I think his experiences in both countries made him a better person, he was able to get the best traits from both worlds.

Long distance relationships are just too hard to deal with especially if you can't afford to visit often. I prefer local, but hey, love knows no boundries.

I would always prefer someone from my country but I have never been lucky with any Filipino man. Well, I am not really ugly. In fact, I see so many people a lot uglier than me. Most Filipino men don't like me because I am a Pinay type - I mean, someone with such a Pinay face while most men prefer mestiza ones... With this fact, I am considering foreign men now. At least I can hear them say maganda rin ako...
