Most of the reasons that the tourists gives us when asked why they go to Philippines is that filipinos were friendly and hospitable.The beaches were really breath-taking;clear water and white sands.And they are not having difficulty in communicating because filipinos can speak ;read and write english.And above all; the way of living is not so expensive compare to other Asian nations. |

Our people are very hospitable and more value for their money is number one . Golfers have a great time for we have great golf courses designed by world renowned golf champions such as Jack Nicklaus , Norman , Aioki etc and playing rights is very cheap like 35% of other Asian golf courses fee , studying college courses especially medical courses are very much cheaper than those in Iran , Israel , US and other Asian countries but is acceptable in companies all over the world, generally we speak good English which is a universal language even in business , we have great natural resources and great scenic spots , great variety of food and all international cuisines could be found in the Philippines too.
So foreigners come to our country even there is AbuSayyaf (as long as you don't go where you should not be ) and all these other bad publicity in world news . If could just make our Airports be our number one foreigner draw , then we are on our way to being the best tourist drawing country in the world. |

Most of the foreigners I encountered are here for business. They said Philippines is a good place to invest since it requires cheap capital and compensation to workers.
Also, some are here to be with their girlfriends they've found on the net... jeez!
But most, are here just to relax since they seem to find everything around here as cheap. |

i think that tourists from different countries come for different reasons, tourists come to the Phil during the winter time because its warmer here and its cheaper compared to other asian countries and Filipinos can speak english. Asian tourists come to the Phil maybe to look for investments and have a short course in english... |

the country is so unique. everyone is so warm and generous that visitors feel like family. also, vacationing there is VERY cheap and they have both cities and countires so it accomadates everyone. |

Most who go have a reason. They have family, they are visiting a close friend, attending an event, or have business there. There are few attractions that really snare in tourists to the PI in Manila besides those. Cebu has resort tourism but primarily caters to national Filipino's on vacation, same as Boracay.
The largest group of tourists I know would probably be ecological tourists in the archipeligo, mostly Bohol; divers to places like Palawan; veterans (Japanese and American) go there for memorials (Leyte, Bilibid, Corregidor, Bataan, Manila etc); and sadly the thriving sex trade in Angeles, Pasay, Quezon, and Malate the govt permits. |

I know alot of Americans who go there for the women. Its very easy to get laid there once word get around that you are an American. |
