If you're a Westerner, unfortunately you'll have to stay away from the southern islands where Abu Sayyaf is active.
On Luzon, Sagada is a great resort, and you'll pass through Bagio and you'll likely see Marcos' granite head between the two cities.
In Manila, there are a lot of sites (or so I've heard--I've been there three times and my filipina wife won't let me site see!)
Food in Manila is extraordinary and cheap. Stay away from the American and Western restaraunts (you can get those anywhere) and eat the local stuff--the filipino eat-all-you-can, the Japanese, etc. My favorite was a Japanese sushi bar (also eat-all-you-can) near the Mega Mall. The selection was unbelievable, there was so much food!
I always gain weight in Manila.
Here's something else you HAVE to try, and I've only seen them in the residential areas early in the morning (up to about 11am). If you're outdoors in the morning, and you here someone yelling "tah hoe!" try to find them! It's a sweet soy breakfast food that men sell out of buckets. I've wandered for blocks just looking for them, and I always get three just for myself. My wife gets mad because I won't share. |

Well, what are you looking for?
Well, if you're looking a place far away from the busy cities. I suggest that you visit Eden Nature Park in Davao. It's a very nice place. 3'000 feet above sea level makes the place very cold in the evening. It is a very big place to explore.
Check this website:
http://www.edennaturepark.com.ph
Well, if you want everything packaged for you already then check Cebu Pacific. They have a wide variety of choices.
Check this website:

If you want a list for hotels, restaurants, or other places in a certain place, visit:

Try checking the Department of Tourism website:

Hope this helped. |

Lots of tourists who include shopping in their itinerary visit Makati Ayala Center and Shangrila Plaza.
If you want to enjoy the beach, then go to Boracay Island. |

Aside from Boracay, you might want to see:
Bohol
--> you'll find Chocolate Hills, Tarsier, Loboc River and of course, Panglao beach (to name one).
Bataan
--> Corregidor Island
Ilocos
--> Vigan (and try their "bagnet"), Laoag and Pagudpod (beach, not so pricey places to stay at and lesser crowd). |

I think that Boracay has gotten a bit overcrowded but if you want to party, go there... And if you go there, go to Jonah's try their shakes! They're really good!
Palawan is a nice place to go to too... Love the beach there...
Among others are:
Bohol (The Panglao Isaland is great.. Just be careful if you're going to pick a resort there since if I remember correctly... there is a better side. Go on the Luboc River Cruise. And if you get a chance... watch the Luboc choir perform or practice... they're really good.), Batanes (breathtkaing sceneries), El Nido (beaches!), Batangas (beaches!), Tagaytay, Baguio |
