What are the special rights accorded to Malay Malaysians? How do Malaysians feel towards this issue?

What are the special rights accorded to Malay Malaysians?

Do Malay Malaysians like you in Malaysia feel you really need such special rights? What I mean is, if you have the means and abilities to sustain and improve your own livelihood, TO WHAT EXTENT does this special right mean to you (other than the fact that you are a Malay)?

How do non-Malay Malaysians feel about special rights? Does it make you feel uncomfortable and hateful thinking about it?

Why must there be a special right to Malay Malaysians when everyone is born in Malaysia and IS a true blue Malaysian? Is it the GOVERNMENT or the MALAY PEOPLE'S wish? WHY???
Additional Details
How many Malay Malaysians here would like to see this thing being abolished and how many would like to know that you can still continue to enjoy this right?

I like what you say! Everyone is born a Malaysian and is therefore a true blue Malaysian to the soil of Malaysia. In this respect, everyone should enjoy EQUAL rights in education, housing etc. Why should an intelligent Malaysian of other ethnicities be put on the waiting list into university when his grades are far better than those who enjoy this right but have lousy grades? The whole economy slows down because of this. Resources are not optimally utilised and talents are not fully developed and given the opportunity to progress. If the Chinese Malaysians like the systems so well, why would they want to send their kids to Singapore to study? Think deeper.

dont you know that malaysia has changed its name to Malayland?

non-malays can do nothing but only sigh. because over the years, again and again we were unable to vote out our stupid government (god knows why) who does nothing but trying to manipulate racial sentiments in its people.

very well said there, sonata, but do you also know that a majority of malays who are truly needy and deserving do not even get a share in the pie? trying to protect the malays my ***. it's simply a strategy conveniently exploited by fat filthy rich malays (politicians and their cronies - recently our PM just had his RM 6 Billion house constructed in Perth) to thicken their own pocket. many poor malays are left in the village with nothing...

Special rights will cripple those who favour it badly and motivate those who are treated unfairly to strive harder for success. In the end, who do you think will become more successful and who will be the complacent ones? See if it's a true reflection of Malaysia now... See the uneven income distribution between the rich and poor and who they mostly are. Those who study history to claim this right should study economics to see how badly your country's economy is affected because of this. Do not be ignorant and keep saying it's history and Malays are the indigenous natives. Does it help your country to develop and become stronger in economy???

To Shim, so you advocate segregation of classes among citizens? What does citizen mean to you? A person culture and citizenship are two different things. Culture is what we do and practise. Citizenship is the right to reside, enjoy benefits and privileges given only to people who proclaim loyalty to the country BUT how come some benefits are given to certain people only? How come some people mencangkung atas titik peluh orang lain? That is what we called 'Parasites' who enjoy the sweat and tears of others belong to another class yet these Parasites have the cheek to question their loyalty. And you Shim, for all the so called experiences of different cultures that you have, you still have the mentality of stoneage. Probably you come from the background which thrives on crutches. Go on Jaguh Kampung. lol

I dont know what the government think but, i know there are a lot of people that really need help in Sabah. I hv done a cencus years ago under Jabatan Pertanian and you have to see to believe how poor people can be.
There is one case that i remember about a primary school named Donni that commit suicide because of poor and the government never know about this family until he is dead...

In the long run, it is in malays best interests for prosperity and stability give the job to the best brain whatever the race or religion they belong to

Why US, Europe and Australia do well, it is because they give all opportunties and attract the best talent.

For heavensake these people were born in that country and have rights.

Why Dubai and Indonesia don't offer citizenship? Answer is simple: Dhimmi attitude.

Why US, Europe and Australia offer citizenship to settled migrants? No Dhimmi attitude

Malaysia is going backwards. Please make changes to be fair to all.

CupCake
Perhaps tomorrow u shall wake up as a Malay and tell us if u feel any difference being one.

I guess everyone has grown to accept this unfairness. Without this unfairness, the society may not even be what it is today because the Malays are the natives to the land of Malaysia. Anyway, the political climate is not ready to allow any abolishment to it. Majority of the people who enjoy this right will also not want to let go because many will be in dire need of help. Ask non-Malays and they will say they don't really mind as long as they can live in peace and harmony and earn enough to enjoy a peaceful life. Anyway, they know how to speak an additional language and this helps them in their daily communication. That's all it matters. Most people are more concerned with survival instead of the issue of getting equal rights as most educated people would.

HRH Shim
You can contest the Constitution only if the non-Bumi are willing to forgo their citizenship and make do with permanent residency only, like the Indians in Dubai. The Chinese in Indonesia, Thailand and Philipines are worse. They have to change their name and culture and have you heard them speaking with Chinese dialect.

The question should be, shall we revert to changing the citizenship to permanent residency for the Malaysian Chinese and Indian? What say you?

kimht
It is the government wish to give more economic or donation to the Malay cos it is their right to ask for more
As long as they are not taking my money to give away i could not care less about it
Maybe it is slowing down the speed Malaysia can developed
but is better than to have a civil war like most confrontation do
Basically is like a cold war in this nation and just hope it remain so
