We're affectionate and hospitable.

Another thing that makes us sweet is when someone cathes us eating we say "kain!" or roughly translated: "let's eat" as a way of inviting the person to eat with us even if all we have to offer is a single sandwich. The offer is never taken but it's a cutural thing of sharing your blessings with someone.

being hospitable is one of the major distinctive traits filipinos have. being family-oriented has attracted other nationalities too.

Filipinos are happy and hospitable people. Even in the face of crisis, you can see their smiling faces everywhere. Also, we care for our visitors. We always made them feel at home.

they like people... you see in some countries they actually thug foreigners... some wont even talk to the foreigner coz they cant speak english... then there are those people from other countries who wont speak english even if their capable just because they hate english.....

anyways... back to the pinoy trait..... pinoys would talk to foreigner even with their broken english..... they would even invite strangers in the home just for coffee...

pinoys all over the world are hospitable... they are also hard workers... thats why alot of countries hire pinoy nurses....

It is true taht Filipinos are everything that this forum claims them to be. I am American Flip. But please don't let the claims of hospitality blind you. In Manila they know the weakness of American trust and use that sometimes for deceitful scams. And there are many scams to watch out for. Poker games where you are actually the mark. Theft from credit card fraud and from rooms are common. The people are wonderful just don't forget its a desparately poor country and they are human beings who get hungry. Use common logic and don't be led around by anyone.I don't mean to frighten you but to keep heads up. Its a great place to travel. Aloha
