Phở (Việtnamese beef noodle). What's so special about it? It has a low calorie, a low cholesterol level and a reasonable price. It is easy to digest, good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Definately BBQ and the humble Meat Pie.
BBQ'ed beef steak, sausages, fish, prawns, squid, mushrooms, onions, pork chops, lamb chops, maybe kangaroo steaks, chicken.........now I'm hungry.

Barbecue. We throw anything into the grill. For chicken barbecue, we say "throw a chook in the barbie".

It is well known we have excellent steak, so barbecue is part of our culture and lifestyle.

By the way, I am from Australia.

That would be fish sticks and bacon--ha ha just kidding :()

I would say my culture is defined by the dish: hot dog on a bun.

I would say I'm defined by the dish: Pizza

An omelette.

Because I've lived in so many countries each having their own distinct cuisines and cultures, the good bits of which I have absorbed.. But wherever I am, an omelette is an omelette.. it just differs in the way that what I put in the omelette depends on which country I am at.

=)

Tuyo at kamatis at alamang. (Dried fish, tomatoes, anchovies).

Sibuyas, kamatis, bawang at luya .....

Neil B
Meat, taters, beans, and bread. Pure redneck.

sweet water
Tinumis, from my parents' hometown. They use entrails and blood of newly-slaughtered pigs, seasoned with local herbs and other ingredients. The correct ingredients must be present otherwise the dish couldn't be called tinumis, it would become simply dinuguan. Tinumis is sweet, thicker, and more black.

Adobo.

This to me is the compleat Filipino dish. It is something I see on dinner tables in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Rich or poor. Even in fiestas and important occasions like weddings, baptisms, etc.

I chose this because I can only talk of Philippine culture in general. I do not represent a specific province with its own distinct culture. And a defining dish.

No one can beat Philippine Chicken ADOBO as it best! My mom can cook it in many different ways... so am i! But the best i guess is Tuna Products since i came from General Santos City, The Tuna Capital of the Philippines. I highly recommend Inihaw na Panga (Broiled Tuna Jaw). The BEST!!!
Oh sorry... definesmy culture? Of course as i have mentioned above, THE BEST! And say una products... it means we came from the place were mermaids and mermans are born!

Becky Go-Belmonte
Adobo (Braised Chicken or Pork). It's greasy, it's salty, it's sweet, and it's sour. Everything a Filipino looks for in a dish.
