Am I allowed to answer this question or is some intolerant moron going to appear again and tell me I have no right to answer the question because I'm not a Malaysian?

Waiting for your permission to express my opinion...

Edit:

Thank you!

Well, Malaysia has its pros and cons.

Malaysia? To make it short: the flag says it all.

Malaysians? So-so. As everywhere there are good and bad people, but many of them have some serious attitude problems (like said minister Effendi Nawawi): they're arrogant and very proud of every single piece of poo made in this country. They're also over-burdened with racial prejudices: they'll claim they're not racist but ethnicity remains one of the main issues in Malaysia and if you're black, you'd be better off in hands of KKK than in Malaysia. If you're not black but you're a foreigner you're expected to praise them 24/7 and be happy that they allow you to enter their country like it's happening here on this site. Malaysians like to criticise but don't like to be criticised. Some MPs bring knife to the National Assembly to threaten non-Malays.

Some Malaysians who are good and polite and kind don't get noticed because the people mentioned in the paragraph above are much more vocal than the latter. The good Malaysians have 3 possible endings:
a) they move abroad
b) they stay in Malaysia but remain silent
c) they stay in Malaysia, keep on talking freely and get bashed by their fellow-Malaysians

If Malaysians were born polite as they claim, Budi Bahasa Budaya Kita campaign wouldn't be needed (neither would be signs 'no urinating in elevator' in Singapore if there weren't some Singaporeans who do that). Many people do welcome me in Malaysia as a foreigner but it cannot be compared with Saudi Arabia or Turkey, where I stayed before and most of people were accepting me on equal footage and where old people treated me like their own child and young people as their brother. I can say Europeans and Americans are also welcoming but not as the Middle East people. Malaysians rank lowest in being friendly to foreigners below Thailand and but above Brunei and Singapore (my ranking, not official statistic). If Malaysians were peace-loving as they claim they wouldn't get so biased and attack other users on Yahoo Answers when somebody says something they don't like to hear.

I do advice foreigners who wish to come to Malaysia to do so. Nice to visit but not very friendly to stay and I'll also leave one day bringing along my Malaysian wife or wives if I marry more by that day...

I generally like Malaysian Chinese, they're polite, hard-working and helpful, they also prove to be loyal friends. I also like educated Indians, most of them are friendly. Malays are so-so: unfortunately too many of them behave as if everything belongs to them and they consider themselves the Herrnmensch of Asia. It came so far that angry Arabs and Indonesians beat up Malay pilgrims on their omrah sometimes. Most of people who have been dealing with Malaysians see tham as pain in the ****.

I don't want to generalise too much, I judge everyone individually, so don't get scared if you're Malaysian. But if you'll keep on sending me home and keep on telling me "you're not Malaysian" and boast about your country, I won't like you. World is globalising, it's less and less relevant what race are you and where you come from.

Islam teaches us that all humas are born equal, regardless of race and place of birth. That's why I shall not reveal what's my ethicity or race - it really doesn't matter, I'm a human and I'm proud of that. But if you have to label me, go ahead, won't benefit you anyway...
My race is human and my nation is Islam.

I should point out Malaysian universities which aren't among their best but it's quite easy to study in Malaysia, equipment is ok and fees are afordable.

Edit 2: Martin H has a good point! I wish I could say so!

I was in Malaysia a few years ago and it is beautiful, I spent time in Kuala Lumpur we stayed at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur and had a great view of the Petronas.

We also went to the Perhentian Islands we stayed on Pulau Perhentian Besar, beautiful beaches.

I would definitely go back great country, friendly people.

I know it's in Asia and they're Asian and the capital is Kuala Lumpar but aside from that not much of my time is dedicated to their / its existence.

I opt not to answer this question because these radical Malaysians will boot me off...

It's a so-so country with "mediocrity" as the capital; "triviality" the food local consumes on a daily basis. Go when you have to... otherwise "Land of Smiles" up north is THE place to be.

Well, as a citizen of this country, I do think that Malaysia is a great country. Love the food variety, and love the people. Yes, we are not perfect, and although many would agree with me that the ethnic relations here is not exactly a bed of roses, but we can and we do mix with other people albeit of different ethnicity.

But, as I said earlier, we're not perfect. Malaysia do have her own problems, part of it comes from problems deeply rooted in the consciences of our society, but we're learning, aren't we? Let take it step by step and before accusing each other for bad-mouthing Malaysia or trying to sabotage the image of the country towards tourists, let's just make this place a real spot for questions that will not provoke any negative sentiments, instead we could post more thought-provoking issues without trying to irritate somebody else who might be reading. Of course, this would lead to dissatisfaction and bad faith, and we can see this from the questions posted lately..

That said, and maybe I'll get few more thumb-downs again for trying to be truthful, I just would like to say, despite its imperfectness, I LOVE Malaysia, and I LOVE Malaysian people.. This is the place I'm born at, and this is where I grew up, and hopefully where I'll grow old and reminisce the old times (as of now). Of course, I would love to go out and see the world, but Malaysia is still in my heart..

Thanks for reading..
