When I was young, I remember eating turtle meat and a medium sized alligator looking like animal (banyas in local dialect) caught in our property . I can't remember what they taste like though.
Anything that has scales and tails and not sold in the groceries is exotic food to me. I would eat such if prepared properly and if my hunger makes me dizzy enough to imagine what the animal looks like. |

When I came to this place, no more exotic food. Everything that moves can be eaten.

exotic food are the type of food which is not regularly eaten in your place. if you are a local resident in a place, such food will not be exotic to you. being a "pinoy", 'balut' will not be exotic to you but it will be for a foreigner. i like 'balut' though it is high in cholesterol. eating dog meat is not comfortable for me. |

Balut with hot and spicy vinegar or just plain salt;
Dinuguan with puto;
Kinunot (Bicol gata) na page, pating or sawa;
Adobong bayawak;
Adobong salagubang;
Adobong matsing/unggoy;
Adobong bayakan;
Tinola or deep fry palaka
I tasted all of them and they're good! A mouth watering, especially the Kinunot my favorite!

All foods are exotic to someone only because it isn't the norm. I'll try most things but some not.
If it's meat and burnt well I'll try it . I will not eat bait (squid) in any form. Love raw oysters.
Sight and smell matters. |

I have always wanted to try the "matang-baka". Literally the cow's eyeballs, in a spicy soup and it squirts that sort of a black liquid as you chew it. They said it has aphrodisiacal properties. |
