What do you like or dislike about Koreans in the Philippines?

Is there anything that you like about Korean people who live in the Philippines? Or do you not like these people because you find them rude? Please explain why you feel this way.

I've heard mixed things about Koreans in the Philippines, so I would like to just get peoples thoughts on things.

All races have their good people and bad people. Korean culture is interesting to me and I find Koreans to be kind MOSTLY to people they know. Filipinos, like Westerners are kind to anyone, whether they are acquaintances or not. Koreans are more friendly with people they know. I started learning Korean expressions and took interest in their culture. When they notice my interest in their culture, they find it exciting and tend to be more friendly. If I approach them in English and just try to communicate with them in a familiar fashion, they tend to shy away or act in a manner that can understandably be perceived to be rude or indifferent. Just get to know a culture before criticizing them. You may be pleasantly surprised to how people react to your interest along with respect for other cultures.

I personally don't like the Koreans in the Philippines for quiet afew reasons. I can understand like any race they aren't perfect but in terms of behaviour they have to be worse than americans at times I must admit and thats saying something. Koreans are at their worse when they are in groups and think they rule the town and can do what they want mostly because they have more money. I can honestly say almost all of them think they are superior to Filipinos. I hate those types.

I suppose the Korean girls aren't too bad but the young Korean guys are just blantantly rude. They go to the Philippines because its a cheaper destination for them to shop, have fun and learn english and not to mention the Filipina girls they bed. It's quiet ironic because they are traditional people and their parents wouldn't allow such behaviour so in a way they are just a bunch of boys having abit of fun not telling mum or dad what they are really doing with their time and money. Go to any KTV bar and their clients will mostly be Koreans.

But yeah I certainly don't like them there with the behaviour and outlook towards the Filipino people but at the same time I can understand why they are like that. They are just ignorant by nature and that can't be helped in any way so I just best avoid interacting with them period. So far one of them hasn't crossed my personal line but if one was to in the future I wouldn't be so civil as I'm being in this answer if you get what I mean.

Koreans are not all that bad but most of them are extremely rude and they talk too loud,I think they are hypersensitive to criticisms so they do the worst best scenarios in the public.

I've met a korean who was so racist to us Filipinos. She's an old woman i met in the Airport, who was shouting at the lady who was inspecting purses, she was so racist, she made the lady cry.

They smell too.

It's okey naman for them to come. They are welcome, but I hope they won't over populate the Philippines, there is just too much of them.

hope this helps!

No offense to any Koreans who might be reading this, but i find most of the Koreans i meet, RUDE.

There are many Koreans in our school. Most of them are bastos or rude. They think they feel "superior" over our country.

Like i was eating in my favorite restaurant once then Koreans went in, they were SO LOUD in chatting.

I was also having my haircut in the barber shop. Our car was parked outside. A group of Koreans parked their car beside mine.
THEY SCRATCHED MY CAR, for crying out loud!!! Careless.
My mother got so mad and pissed at them.

The things i like about them is that they help in our economy since they find the Philippines attractive for education, recreation, etc.

Well I think I could answer that question...When we ate in a Italian restaurant, they were so so rude! They took our pepper without permission and hitted our chair. One more thing, I think they are ruling our country, Philippines because of so many Korean restaurants and shops. Mostly, we could find this in Don Antonio Heights in Commonweath, Quezon City, Philippines...

They frickin' tell me to open stuff/doors for them at school. Like this guy who was in front of me when queuing for food, and couldn't open his lousy Air Heads (ironic that he's eating it) so he just FLIPPING SHOVES IT TO ME AND SAYS WITH THAT FUGLY ACCENT OF HIS "Ohpun", which probably meant 'Open'. And like the idiot that I am, I opened it for him anyway. I kinda wish I didn't wash my hands after I used the bathroom.

well, I like their food... and they also help our economy...

If you come to think of it, they don't even agree with each other that's why you have a North and South. What more to foreigners. By stereotype, they're rich and not refined, and very bad drivers too. Their girls are very whinny and forms up a "V" via two fingers when they pose. Aside from that, we should be thankful that they are going to the Philippines and in a lot of ways they help develop the country. Peace, Koreans, learn some good manners aside from English from the Filipinos.

jd
Racially I don't care.
However the Korean neighbors I have had are mostly young kids stay drunk. Rip up the furniture and make noise a lot.
Then when you see them they act like you aren't there.
So I can't say I'm fond and I don't think they would have the friendly disposition of the Pinoy where ever they are.

The language barrier is the thing I dislike about it.
Other than that, they are fine.

I have some Korean classmates and they're nice. Though I know some who are rude.

I was at my brother's school recently to attend a school activity and there were korean women seated behind us who were talking too loudly. Even when the pre-activity holy mass was going on.

be sure that they return to korea after their business in the philippines.
we need their money ,not them.

You are asking our assessment in personal judgement right? So I will base it on...I hate them!

why?
personal experience...I don't care if I sound racist, they've just done overly beyond for me to change on how would I feel about them....sorry.

I don't need to step down for revenge anyway, I simply ignore them, would not even bother to look at them..and I don't buy in their stores..period!

they think they're superior to filipinos. not completely their fault though. filipinos do spoil them. they're not hygienic too

FiestaQueen
they may have some faults but the same could be said with other nationalities when they are living in another place. because of culture differences we tend not to understand our quirky ways.

Delightful
the fact that theyre dominating the country and speak in their language i dont understand. for all i know, theyre talking sh-t about me.

but i dont really like to generalize, i have a few korean friends and theyre actually very nice and talented.

JC
I think they are rude no matter where they are. Don't get me wrong, I have Korean friends and I love watching Korean dramas, but I think it's just their personality. Their food is awesome too.

I don't have any bad experiences with the Koreans. I have a neighbor who has a Korean friend. He is nice and friendly though. I invited him to have dinner at the house. He even brought some foods and shared time to talk with us. I don't wanna be judgmental. Some maybe rude, some are not. Just like Filipinos or other nationalities in the world. They do exist and can't simply avoid them.

Yes, they are rude and arrogant people, but some of you would say that about all foreigners. The question I have for you people complaining is why don't you stand up for yourselves? I've seen Koreans treat my Filipino friends poorly, but they take it, and do nothing. As to where if they are rude to me I give it right back to them, and some. If someone treats you with respect then give them respect back, if someone disrespects you then disrespect them back. Plain and simple. Stand up for yourselves.

A.W.
I don't like ornamentals anywhere.

Big P
Uh oh, we have an honest racist filipino coming out the closet.
With all the corruption that go on in the country, you have a nerve to talk about another race as if filipino's are flawless. Pleeeeaaase!!!!!!!!!
