Too many stupid, ignorant, arrogant "English teachers" from the U.S. Yes, from the U.S. in particular.

Real racists and/or perverts, mainly from the US, UK, Australia, Korea and China, who shut themselves into Gaijin ghettos and devote their own lives to find fault with Japan and its people.

-Excessive politeness; like when convenient store employees bow. And people use honorifics/humbles.
-Being stared at everywhere. Being called a gaijin.
-Overshadowed ethnic histories: like Koreans living in Japan--omitted from the history books.
-Guys viewing porn manga/magazines in convenient stores and on the train.

But there's a lot of great things about the place. I guess some of this stuff is true to other nations.

It is extemely difficult to buy 60% or 100% whole wheat bread anywhere in Japan; I don't know if they even make it there.
The seats in the buses are too narrow; my Japanese friend from Gifu and I had to each take a row because we both are around 5'10" tall.

it really depends on the category. hmm i like their diet because its one of the healthiest in the world. Living in tokyo is quite expensive, however i much prefer hawaii because of the average housing size that fits my needs is bigger. I could go on and on however, their are many categories and just too many to list.

Having used to live in Japan, I did not like Japanese people assuming I did not speak Japanese because I was American! Even when I asked questions in Japanese, they seemed to not understand because what I said was wrong, but because they could not believe an American could speak Japanese.
