Tibet: Before 1950's, it was still ruled by slave owners. Dalai Lama was himself a dictator. Tibetans are now enjoying much more freedom than they did. Go there and see it yourself.
Taiwan: Well, look at American civil war. Would you allow the south to be independent? Old Atlanta was burned down and thousands and thousands of southerners was killed for the purpose of a unified America! And keep it in mind, Taiwan was a part of China even before the birth of The United States of America! So study the American history first and shut your stupid mouth up!
FaLunGong: What a joke?!! If someone tells you not to see a doctor or take any medicine when you are sick, would you listen to him? Well, thats what the FaLunGong ppl do. Thousands of them died because they refused to take any treatment, believing their leader would cure them.... Their leader, Li Hongzhi, a former factory worker from northern China, claims himself the most powerful god of the universe. Besides that, Li even told his followers to surround the offices of Chinese Central government! Think about it--If the wite house was surrounded by thousands of ppl believing in their 'god', what would the American government do??....Falungong ppl to Li is like North Koreans to their 'Dear Leader'. go figure. |

McCarthy lives in YOU. Why is it Americans wax sentimental about the Olympics being about sport and not politics and yet put politics first EVERY TIME??? Let the games be played. Rant afterwards.
McCarthy? You really can't be serious, right? Why 'piss off' the Chinese, anyway? They are also potential allies, you know.
In the name of freedom? You really can't be serious, right? New Orleans. Iraq. Bankruptcy. South America. The Philippines. I could go on. |

You sound very sour.Come on,face it.China is the superpower now we all agree. You want to feel bad and upset about it you do it in your own place and at your own time. Say look for a better job so you won't think too much about the Chinese people. They all have things to accomplish they won't even worry about your poor soul. |

Stupid and Futile.
A lot of Chinese Customs officers will be searching a lot of bags as people arrive. If a flag isn't confiscated and gets through so some one can wave it at the games, they will soon have a friendly talk with a local PSB officer for a few hours or more.
Leave the Politics at Home |

Hey, Commie-Hater, before you engage in giving people stupid advice I want you to know that the emblems of the Republic of China (Taiwan) are prohibited by law in the PRC, just as well as showing the Free Tibet flag. You can check that in the Chinese law.
And what is more, the Olympic games are a peaceful event and they're not supposed to be misused for political statements. Even in ancient Greece all wars were halted and all weapons were laid down during the time of the Games. Why can't you dickwad do the same and shut your damn commie-hating trap? |

I dont think that it is that good of an idea.
These things will actually be getting a lot of coverage by themselves. The Olympics do not need to be a platform for this.
The pollution is really not as bad as you think. |

Having just spent a couple of weeks in China, including several days in Beijing - I recommend you don't. Read what happened in Tienanmen Square. According to all Chinese newspapers and history books. NOTHING happened there in 1989. Forget about witnesses or any evidence.
Remember, you are a guest in their culture and society. Would you wear something about freeing ethnic groups from Eastern Europe while visiting Red Square? You could conveniently disappear in a blink of an eye.
Unlike most Western societies, you are considered guilty until proven innocent. You have no rights to legal representation and may be more of an embarrassment to your own Embassy than you know. What goes away, is easily forgotten.
I learned this while traveling, both abroad and to friend's homes. NEVER piss off the host! |

Olympic is NOT a political event, so don't make it political. |

When you say "Free Tibet" and "Free Taiwan" what do you mean? How do you propose to free them? By bombing both sides back to the stone age all in the name of "freedom?" As it is now, both sides are free to badmouth each other and wave their fists at each other from opposite sides. That's about as free as it's gonna get for now, and I don't think it's such a bad thing.
If you actually lived in Taiwan or Tibet I think you'd see the situation very differently. Taiwan is quite small--there's no way they could get "free" from China unless 1. other superpowers got involved (aka WWIII) or 2. China voluntarily accepted them as an independent country. Perhaps that will happen one day. I think it's best to pray for #2 and keep peace in the world. |

Oh, my God. (eye-roll emoticon needed here)
Don't get into nonsense like this. Futile and stupid indeed. And possibly dangerous (or at least extremely uncomfortable) for you.
If you really want to make a statement via these Olympics, the best way to do it is probably just to completely ignore them...don't go there, don't buy the souvenirs, and don't watch on TV. I don't think anything could possibly be more devastatingly embarrassing to the Chinese than if they gave an Olympics...and nobody came.
Although I don't think this is likely to happen.
As for the suggestion of Falun Gong tattoos...might want to learn more first before you automatically accept their claim to status as victims. These are NOT nice people, and definitely not unwilling to create a few victims of their own. I've seen this with my own eyes.

Chinese,The Most Envied Race/Civilization
huge land, a pure race, culturely, great economy, great technology, strong military and nukes, most thoughtful leaders, independent political system, physically superior(olympics)
the huge land and pure race combination is enough. mutts (americans), and losers from failed races/civilizations(small countries) envy the pure and mighty Chinese race

This is a very bad idea. There is no political freedom in china. I think this is a very good way to get into big trouble.
Also, there is no point in pissing off the host country for no good reason (you don't care about Tibet anyway). If you have a problem with china, boycott the games. |
