I think that varies a lot from girl to girl, just as with all ethnicities.

honestly i think it is very rad!i like how it is so different from american ideas...they put the clothes together and they have a unique masterpiece. I wish some americans would just try it.I do think the fashion sense they have is great because it is different.

Depends on the girl and what "tribe" she belongs to.

Personally I like the skirts & boots combo that makes it appearance during the spring and fall months. Me and my friends call it "skoots season".

Just amazing. (I'm not freaking, just commenting).The Lolita style has such methodical punctuality and hospital corners. Punk freedom is cultural rebellion expressed individually. Shows the peers, look I'm grown, but I want to be a child today, from long ago. Uniforms are required for both public and private schools. That fashion is now cute too, due to the clever group-think of loose socks. Ladies; be proud, innocent, and courageous. What spirit!

i can say that they are pioneers in fashion sense in Asia. I just dont like most of Japanese girls bodies !!! TOO SKINNY ,no a$$, weird shaped legs, a lot of them are easy girls too. sex is just nothing to them.

Most Japanese teenage girls have a tendency to put on a cute front. Which I find to be a turn off. I find sophisticated women sexy & fake cuteness to be silly. But hey, most of my Japanese friends like them so, there's a demand & there's the supply.

Sometimes I see girls that are dressed so exactly like a magazine that to me they look costumed, and therefore uninteresting.
Critically speaking, I think many have *different* (or perhaps *no*) idea what actually flatters them. They are truly slaves to fashion, you see MANY fashion "victims" out there.
But some people look incredible, the way they blend old and new is so creative and friggin cool.
I honestly do not know how Japanese girls manage to wear so MANY clothes (at one time), especially in the broiling heat of summer. I'm afraid if I tried to pull off an outfit like that I'd look like I was running away from home.

Looking for the truth...

I don't like it when the women/girls try to dress "fashionablly". A mini skirt over black tights with lace edges. I just looks like you forgot to take off your underwear before you left the house. A lot of girls also are getting into the "grunge" look. I hate that, no matter who is wearing it.

But there are several, dare I say, the majority of young women dress with taste and class. It's those few in Tokyo that create this stereo type.

You got to look at it as Japanese fashion.Some of them have no idea but its their idea.
The fashion is not the same in Tokyo and other big cities in Japan.
There is a kind of tribal fashion code.If you take Osaka most of the people are born in Osaka but if you go to Tokyo most of the people have drifted into the big city life from other parts of Japan.So you got to watch the fashion closely.
