What do you think about the policy of "Maid are not allowed in the country club"?

I think that rule is bullshit!! Maids are humans as well and why can't they own the same human rights as normal people have to enter private premises when their owners allow to bring them along?

Pls tell me which country club in Singapore declare such ridiculous rule?

Country club is for "member only". Do you still need a maid to serve you while in a country club? Maid is a person, not your personally belonging. Unless you are signing the maid as a "guest", if not, I don't see what wrong with the policy.

It is an unwritten policy. And yes, it exist in Singapore and all over the world.

Members have rights, so does a membership clubs. That is why they have rules and regulations.

A member should respect the rights of other members.

A maid is already an under privilege person serving you at your home there is no need to add insult further by having her/him to serve you in the country club in front of your peers.

A country club is a place where members are being served by the staff of CC not maids. A good country club will facilities and staff to take care of these needs. You can leave your maids to wait by the vehicle in which you came in.

You can sign in your maid as a guest and as a guest, she can enjoy the CC's facilities and you can pay for it if you are rewarding your maid.

There is no rules against a person for walking around Ritz Carlton Hotel, but then would you walk check in to Ritz Carlton Hotel in slippers and shorts?

It doesn't at least not that i know of any clubs who do that. Its so ridiculous.maids are people too they are not servants who look like beggars and are expected to serve you like slaves.eventhough i am not a maid,i think they should be treated equally and they must be treated well.Given enough food and drinks and rest too.they have lives and familes to look afterand people should care for them.they are leaving their family just to come and look after another family just to support their parents or kids and it is not right for anybody in the world who should be treated this way and they have a right to speak up and talk about thier abuse or how they are treated.
