They spent RM150 million to send him to space..
And he was credited by NASA as a 'participant', not an engineer or astronaut like the rest of the crew..
So, basically, Malaysia spent 150 million(tax payers money) to send him on a vacation to space...

Other than that, hes super good looking!! Bet he can work the catwalk.. kekeke... :D

Yuna - Hehe, looking on the positive side, huh? ;-) Btw, this is the first time I'm seeing your pic, you look lovely!

Can't see how it 's going to benefit the country, but it sure 's going to boost Dr's modeling career ,and draw more costumers to his restaurant too.

classic example of burning taxpayer money for ... for ... for what actually?! maybe to boost the confidence of the people who is not so confident about the nation ...

many people feel so proud about it because the 'space project' really bring tonnes of benefit to our nation by ... by ... by ... err ... err ... sending one handsome man to space! Yeah! he played gasing in space also, you know or not?! which country had ever achieved that ? US, China, Russia, UK ? None! They can have their stupid space stations flying from planet to planet, they can have their hopeless nukes lauched from satelites BUT they can never have a smart gasing rotating in space, forever.

thank you very much ...

A waste of decent tax payers' money=P
There's more to be done here which are more important & placed much emphasis on i.e. education, crime prevention, etc.

i think its a kickstart.at least it gave inspiration to others esp youngsters yg minat astronomy n such..even in nasa's website he's not recognize as astronout wat so ever, wat da heck?fer me,if u oledi pegi itu space,dh kire astronout la tu.kn? and i've read few -ve comments bout this issue.c'mon la, even he's pegi melancong pn, at least he got something to tell, the experience, knowledge that he can share wif others.rite? jgn la asik2 pikir -ve je.nampak sgt korg tu dengki kt sheikh tu kn?hahhaa.. cube bayangkan kalau korg kat tempat dia? hah? mesti korg diam terkelu seribu bahasa.excited.kn? maka, moralnye disini, fer those who hav envy n papela yg -ve,blaja2 la berpikiran +ve. try to feel happy fer others. lagi satu, saya suke astronomy. tp end up jadi programmer hohoho~

I like it that we beat Singapore to it so they cannot action with us but I'm worried about spending taxpayers money on the next spaceflight expedition as there are a lot of other priorities to be dealt with. Sending an angkasawan bringing specimens for research is okay but what Malaysians are worried is the Ministers and the "kuncu-kuncu" who will be using a large portion of taxpayers money to join the expedition in Russia in the project. Together with their wives you know. First class flight lagi. Imagine how many poor children can be schooled with the amount of money used for this "elite" project for the "elite" people.

Frankly....it's a waste of money....unless the government had a good tactical & technical reason...but if it is just for the sake of having a name in a list of nation that ever being in space, they better spend it to the poor...

booyah
I don't think much about it.
