I'm a Filipino... hopefully you don't mind if a Filipino answers this question =)

Okay, well, my opinion of we Filipinos is that almost all of our meals are very healthy. We have many traditions, like Fiestas, mostly for Catholics, and the famous Filipinos are mostly successful in like... sad songs, or not sad, but just like, minor, and most Filipino songs have piano in them. The Guinness Book of World Records put our country in the book for the "most murders in a year" but I don't believe it. They make our country look so bad. We're sort of good at bowling. Our national language is Tagalog. People that are not from like... China, Japan, Thailand, and other Asian countries like those (not Turkey, or anything) can't succeed in speaking Tagalog, because they don't have the right accent, so they have a hard time, although they can do it if they say it by syllables! I think most people are really kind, helpful, and friendly, like my family, and my family's friends, but some are like... really un-helpful, and unfriendly, and unkind and rude. I miss it, I moved here to the U.S. in 2004. Plan a visit, it will help if you want to know everything. If you go, my suggestion of your destination to stay is in San Luis, Batangas. It's beautiful there! Or Mandaluyong, Metromanila. They are both in Luzon Island.

I actually work for a company that is owned by a Philippines lady. She is very kind to her employees and helps us when we need it. There are other Philippine's that work at my job who are really wonderful people and also bring their own food at lunchtime, and will occasionally invite us for lunch. My experiences with them have been very pleasant.

That's what I really love about them.

They're also very very family-oriented. They love hanging out with their families. They would do anything to help their family.
That is why many Overseas Filipino Workers or OFW's suffer, they suffer the pain, the hardwork for their families.

If I did not like filipino people, I would not have no interest in Philippines.
I would not be married to a filipina.

However, I will tell you going by what I observe, SOME local filipino's don't know how to live right. Some like to exploit and take advantage of good foreigners. Some locals are not happy with their life and they want others to feel what they feel.(crab mentality)

Some filipino's love to make foreigners subject of conversation to another filipino in the foreigner's presence. (very rude and ignorant)
Some filipino's carry a plastic face around a foreigner but their intention is not good.

I can read some filipino's very well. I know how to play the same games they play without being corrupt,lying,cheating and stealing.

Most Filipino's kids are very sweet,friendly and respectful.

Contrary to popular belief, I love filipino people in general.

They are very nice and shy mostly. Very giving and want to be friends though they seem to have to yell at each other to hear. Lots of festivals and mostly Christian people.
They are very brave as they face the world and challenges.
No one could make you feel more comfortable.
Most of these rude answers would never be said out loud.

in general, i love the philippines people. been there 5 times on vacation and made several friends.majority of them are honest and loyal and always have smile on their face and willing to help you.and they put family and god 1st. ya gotta love em..

I really like filipino's they r very conservative and they don't act like other people who get married young or something. There culture is so beautiful and they have so many things about them.
