It defines somebody who has no backbone. Somebody who will easily change his/her mind, opinion, position, to the opposite side specifically because it is the easy way out or it will give his/her the most benefit or it will give him/her lesser punishment. And who normally would go back again to the other side when convenient.
In Tagalog there is a similar term to it--"doble-cara" in English is it called two-faced, but though it is similar to being a "balimbing" it is not entirely the same. As the fruit that bears the name "balimbing" has many different sides/facets, "doble-cara" is just normally a liar who shows you their good side face-to-face to mask what goes on in the inside. |
