What food is authentic Filipino? |
Adobo is mexican in origin, balut is vietnamese, tinola, caldereta and asado is spanish, loads of other "filipino" dishes are really chinese in origin and so on.
So does anybody know food, besides sinigang, that can be called 100% Filipino?
And don't bother with the tapsilog or any other "silog" jokes. I've heard'em all. Additional Details Her, soup number 5 is French. |

hmmmm. drop drop LOL. it's a vegetable dish from Pangasinan where they just literally drop vegetables like bungga ng malugay, ampalaya and the likes into a fish, seafood or meat stock. sounds wierd tastes good. Or maybe papaitan, laing, Bicol express, bibingka? puto? Or the sinaing na tulingan of Laguna? most wet markets sell it prepared already. hard to make but yummy! hmmmm... or stuff like Molo soup, I'm told it comes from the city of Molo in Iloilo. now that is yummy! hmmmm XD |

hmm... how about bopis, laeng, ginataang pakbet (lol don't actually know what it's called but it's something like that), menudong kapampangan, sinigang na salinas (a small fish) with pako (green leafy vegetable), daing na bangus, sisig, tenga ng baboy (chopped pig ears marinated in soy sauce, onions, etc.,--served cold), tulingan, pata tim, shabu-shabu...lol, i'm just not sure if they're all 100% authentic though. |

is Pinoy and not Mexican, for the reason that soy sauce is a Chinese and Asian condiment. We were the first to use it than the Mexicans. |

i could be wrong, but im pretty sure adobo aint mexican. It uses loads of soy sauce which i dont think Mexicans had available in those days. Plus i dont think ive ever seen any traditional mexican food with soy sauce or that resembles adobo.
****
The Filipino dish named Adobo is not Mexican. The Spanish word for marinade is adobo. Mexicans don't have any dish called Adobo, however they do have a seasoning/marinade called adobo because thats what it means, and the traditional Mexican recipe for the marinade does not contain soy sauce.
and odnt mean to be rude but *buzzzz* wrong answer to your own question, Soy Sauce originated in China. |

Tinadtad (literally translated: chopped).
It is a dessert made in certain areas in Mindanao. It is golden brown, very delicate, looks like a wire mesh, cylindrical in shape but not hollow at the center, approximately two inches in circumference.
It reminds one of glass noodles used for pancit, with finer strands. |
