If your Muslim friends are from West Malaysia, you can make kueh tarap .... hehehe ... like goreng pisang but instead of pisang, you put in the tarap ... and I guarantee that they will this kueh raya of yours is exotic ... but don't tell them about its tree ... you know why ? Cuz its tree is used to make coffins in West Malaysia ... that is why you never see people selling tarap over here but I just love this food ...
As you know how to cook nasi, why not go with your that like mango jeruk .... mmm ....what the name already ... I think 'bambang' something ... plus ikan masin ... plus belacan ... pasti oomph ... lol
And you can still standby burger and sandwich in case they cannot makan this kind of food ... lol |

Kuih is a Malay (Asian) food. Sandwich and Burger are Western food. Don't quite match right?
But frankly, it's the thought that counts but make sure it is halal. Worst case, buy from those makciks that sell Hari Raya goodies |

I'm not quite familiar with Malaysian dishes but I know how to cook Sayur Lode. Or I can help you out with some Filipino/Japanese dishes that would be okay for Hari Raya.
Hope this helps.
