Each main ethnic group have their own typical breakfast but it is mainly the Chinese-Malaysians who enjoy the most - they do eat Malay and Indian items for breakfast often (nasi lemak, roti canai, chapati) in addition to their own traditional breakfast (porridge, noddles, even herbal pork trotter, sparerib soups with white rice - "bakutay")
My breakfast? Muesli and milktea. |

Nowadays I never had a chance to take breakfast because I'm always late for work. Those days my late mom used to make me a very supernice aromatic black coffee. I would never missed it and it was a complete breakfast for me. Anyway, a typical Msian breakfast is nasi lemak the one wrapped in banana leave with a brown paper on the outerlayer. |

It depends on where I am...
Usually I would have my Gardenia Wholemeal bread with butter and cheese (toasted), with a cup of Milo to start my day.
Its more towards my nutritional needs rather than anything else. On other options, a good plate of Nasi Lemak sotong (kering) is good and if I'm back at Kelantan, it would be Nasi Dagang or Nasi Kerabu. In Penang it would be Pasembor or Char Koay Teaw.
If I'm in the UK, I would have bread with Salami and Cheese with pickled olives and on occasion, it would be slices of bacon and ham... oh, and beer for lunch. |
