I think that Boracay is overrated... You should check out Bantayan island. It's much more beautiful than Boracay, plus, there's not a lot people... Go there before it gets commercial like Boracay is now. |

A lot of people would say Boracay and I agree. I just think it is expensive. Puerto Galera is more accessible and affordable. You get the same fun for half the price. |

Try going to Boracay.. the beach is great! Though during peak season its quite crowded. Try going to Panglao Beach in Bohol too, the beach is also great but not that crowded like Bora. |

the philippines has tons of wonderful beaches (and I've been to many countries). i've also been to most of the places mentioned here. choosing on the basis of beaches, swimming, and snorkelling alone, my ranking would be:
1. Amanpulo
2. Pansukian (Siargao)
3. Toss up between: Club Noah (Taytay Palawan), Alona Palm (Bohol), Club Paradise (Coron Palawan), and Pagudpud (Ilocos Norte).
These places are pretty safe to go to but you have to take a plane to everywhere except Pagudpud (it's a 12-hour landtrip though). They're also expensive except for Pagudpud and Coron Palawan -- Club paradise is expensive but there are cheaper, acceptable alternatives such as dive link. |

You might want to try maricaban Island just few kms off from Anilao Port (Batangas). It has the powdery white sand similar to Boracay and yet so peaceful..... and life is so simple there... untoched by modern civilisation.... |

Amanpulo would be best but very expensive. Next would be El Nido, Palawan (also expensive) and ofcourse there's Boracay. If you like scuba diving, place to go would be Batangas (Laiya, etc.) |

Any beach in Bohol is the BEST!!!!! They aren't like ur average beaches! Instead of sand there are soft pebbles, which surpirsingly don't hurt to walk on!!! Especially in Jagna, tanobak beach, you can see near by island Mindanao!
Jagna is a bustling port town in the eastern coast of Bohol. This municipality was first settled by immigrants from Loboc who transformed the wide valley into rice paddies. It became a rather prosperous community. In 1879, it had a population of 11,829.
Today, Jagna is the place from where you can embark in the direction of Mindanao. While you pass here, don't hesitate to have a taste of the local delicacy, calamay, a mixture of sticky rice, coconut milk, and sugar, packed in a coconut shell.
Jagna at a glance
Population: 30643
Number of households: 5957
Land area: 12063 ha
Number of barangays: 33
Distance from Tagbilaran: 63 km |

For me the best beach is in Glan fronting Saranggani Bay. powdery white sand similar to Boracay, untouched and excellent place for deep sea diving.
Runner up:
Sta Cruz Island (Pink Island) in Zamboanga
Amanpulo
General Luna in Siargao |

Boaray in Kalibo, Aklan is prefered by many...
but you can also check out resorts in Cebu and Palawan.. Plantation Bay in cebu is nice. and lots to choose from in palawan.. just make sure you get all the necessary shots before you go to palawan because it is quite malaria-infested... but it sure is worth it..
chek out the link below for more details... |

That would be Boracay. It's a beautiful island and the sand is very white. Something closer to Manila would be White Beach in Puerto Gallera. You can get there by ferry going out of Batangas. |

Boracay, Boracay, Boracay!
Not only is it an absolutely gorgeous beach, but there are lovely restaurants to suit your taste- Indian, Greek, Italian...and they are super quality! You can even get a pretty darn good American hamburger or fries with gravy after a night of drinking at the cool bars and nightclubs on the island...or you can taste the local cuisine! Also, the shopping is good for cute jewellery and clothing, sculptures, as well as other local goods.
Lastly, CHEAP BEER! I recommend Nigi Nigi Noo Noos as a hotel or a bar (best at happy hour!). They have a yummy breakfast too!
The water is crystal clear and beautiful, the sand is pure white and fine...there are also a few other gorgeous islands and grottos nearby that you can see on a snorkelling tour. Fun fun fun!
It's such a tiny island, yet it has all this to offer! |

Boracay, it not only the best beach in the Philippines but also recognised as one of the top 10 in the world.
The Sand on Boracay is a white colour with the consistancy of powder, the sea is a clear green/light blue colour and you can see the bottom even at 15-20 meters deep and finally the sun sets at a 90 degrees to the main West beach creating stunning, uninterupted sun sets while you sip your cocktail at a beach bar.
I miss that place |
