What is more endearing: the love of your spouse or that of your child?

Additional Details
Papaw944: thanks...sure, you can add me to one of your contacts

Bopols: the question crossed my mind several times. I know there is no comparison between the love of one's spouse and that of one's child, however, the question is hypothetical in nature, akin to the question most often asked in life: if you were to save one or the other in a crisis, who would you save?

That's a hard one. I chose my wife by interaction with her, courtship, and marriage. My kids, which I love dearly, I've raised, they've married, and moved away and have families of their own. We stay in touch, visit often, and I'd do anything for them or my grand kids. But, my wife, whom I chose and vowed to spend my lifetime with, is still here by my side, still loving me, still supporting me after 40 + years of marriage. My love for my kids is unwavering, but the love of my spouse is by far the most endearing.

You ask good questions; may I add you to my contacts list?

It just depends....in my world...the love of my children is more endearing..I don't have to fear divorce or betrayal with them.

That of your child...Its so much more pure. Theres truly a physical bond between you.

Ms Annabelle, this is one question I thought you were not your usual thoughtful self. I would not even dare compare the love of my child versus that of my spouse. They are on a different plane.

Based on women who are not happy with their marriage life, they'd often say they would rather go away from their spouse and start a new life with their child. So I guess between the two, the love of your child is more endeering over the love your spouse. lol. Not a helpful answer but when you really think about it, it isn't uncommon to a lot of women already.

ANTON D
if you must seperate the two --then the child of course

myguychase
By far the love of your of your Child !

Fidget
I've always been taught to love your husband above everyone other than God. However, the love I have for my children seems so much deeper. I love my husband very much, but I couldn't imagine my life without my babies.

I think the love of your spouse is more endearing because he/she doesn't have an innate instinct to love you, whereas for children, they have love for you no matter what. Also, children don't really know the "real you" as an adult/person. They just see you as "mommy" or "daddy". Your spouse knows you for who you are, so I think their love is more special.
