Absolutely Beijing, if you can only visit one city in three days! As the capital of China, Beijing has been the most prominent city in China for the larger part of six centuries. Beijing is a beautiful metropolis where modern marvels and ancient wonders sit side-by-side. Beijing is the center of power and culture in China. A masterpiece of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) architecture, Beijing is the perfect example of the dichotomy between old and new China.
The fabled Forbidden City, the legendary Great Wall, the spectacular Summer Palace, the living history of Ming Dynasty, the world class national art museum, and of course the endless shopping streets...Beijing is the perfect window to see both into the legendary past of China and the boundlessly prosperous future.
No other city in China has won the Olympics! Why not take this opportunity to see this charming international city before her Olympics debut?
You can read more about Beijing at this website: http://www.jiasdreamtours.com/beijing.html |

Beijing in 3 days
Beijing top sight is undeniably the FORBIDDEN CITY, u will need at least a morning to cover the palace and some of the nearby sights of TIANMEN SQ. take a subway from tiananmen xi to WANGFUJING and lunch at QUANJUDE ROAST DUCK Resto or wangfujing snack st. Jump in a taxy to the TEMPLE OF HEAVEN or spend the afternoon on bicycle tour.
Rise early the next day for a trip to the GREAT WALL and the MING TOMBS and spend the evening enjoying a performance of CHINESE ACROBATICS before rounding off the day winning and dinning at SANLITUN , at hidden tree or lao hanzi
THIRD day make an early morning visit to the LAMA TEMPLE before browsing amog the stalls and bric - a - brac shop of LIULICHANG. in the afternoon walk along the restored MING CITY WALL from chongwenmen to the southeast corner wacthtower or make an expedition to the SUMMER PALACE . in the evening dine at xiao wang's home resto or the COURTYARD , snack at DONGHUAMEN NIGHT MARKET or spen the evening enjoying BEIJING OPERA at one of the city's numerous theatres
enjoy ur trip at beijing and indonesia too |

Shanghai is great for shopping. But for art history culture Xi'an is worth to go.Tibet?I think I don't have to mention that.If you never been there, forget what I listed before.Anyway 3 days are not enough to see everything. But pick the right place, you still can have plenty of great memories. Here are some articles about travel in China.Hope this can help a little bit. http://knows.jongo.com/res/article/13813 |

3 days to visit one of the largest and most culturally and geographically diverse country in the world, ranging from quasi-polar to tropical climate and over 60 distinct ethnies...hmmm...one city? I've been going to China since 1984 and cannot get tired of it, always discovering something new every day. I am stuck with this question...
I guess Beijing would offer a little bit of everything: art, history, shopping, culture, great food, various ethnic districts including the largest mosque in China, and of course the impossible-to-miss like the Forbidden City and a section of the Great Wall nearby... |

Of course you have to see Beijing but I would send you also to Nanjing. It is full of history culture. Google the city and you will see. The most touching is the Memorial Hall of the victims in Nanjing massacre by the Japanese invaders. I was teaching in Zhuhai and went to flew to Nanjing just to see this. It was well worth it. Here is the website.http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/NanjingMassacre/NM.html or http://www.jsinfo.net/njm If you go, first read Iris Chang's book THE RAPE OF NANKING. You may email me if you like I have many pictures and stories of my trip. |

I know a lot of people will say Beijing and the Great Wall of China but I'd have to go with Shanghai because its a bustling modern city. Great for shopping (beware of the fakes) & don't forget the musuems too. People Square, Bund, Yu Yuan Garden...3 days is just not enough.
Next I'd have to say Xi'An solely because of its long history, it is afterall the first capitol of China. Terra Cota warriors anyone?. |
