If history interests you, there are beautiful monuments, if beaches interest you, Goa is the place, If you wanna rejuvenate yourself while on vacation, Kerala is the place. Things are cheap and you can really enjoy an inexpensive holiday.

The Maldives. It is purely heaven on earth. They are the most beautiful islands you could ever imagine. The sea is turquoise and so clear you can see the sand on the bottom. The diving and snorkelling is so much fun, and you can see turtles, manta rays, reef sharks, as well as over beautiful marine life. On the islands they have fruit bats which are noisy but so amazingly huge! They're fairly rare in the wild so they're exciting to see. You can take small sunset crusies and see wild dolphins.
The sea plane to your island is a novelty, a little scary, but definately an experience! I found the food was wonderful, and our villa was just gorgeous. we had our own private tropical garden with a jacuzzi, our room had air con with a huge four poster bed. The people are all really nice. In Male there is a market where you can buy local produce and souvenirs.
It's nice to just relax with free drinks (the islands are pretty much all all-inclusive), on a beautiful sugar white beach. These islands wont be here forever so we should enjoy then while we can. |

how long have you got and what are you interested int?
a minimum of 2 weeks in most SEA countries is a must.
if you've only got limited time then the best way is to go with a travel company, coz they'll show you the good things in the places you go and you'll not be wandering around trying to find your bearings, hotel, food, adventures, etc.
i like South East Asia so i'd recommend (alphabetical order only) Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam (sorry for those who like Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines, i can't recommend these places, coz i've not been there yet).
anyway dude, pick any country in Asia, enjoy the atmosphere, people, food, culture, history, scenery, etc etc etc, and you'll develop your own preferences. you'll find it captivating and you'll want to return again and again. Just get on that plane now and enjoy, coz you'll love it :-] |
